Inspired by some really creative inquisition armies I've seen here and elsewhere, I decided to try my hand at a heavily converted Coteaz army. Which was quite ambtious, as my previous conversion experience consisted of magnetizing weapons, and make a Grey Knight left-handed for no particular reason.

Initially, I wwanted to make a themed army (based loosely on Berserk), but soon gave up and decided to just do whatever I thought would look cool. Well after a few months of gathering bits and sticking them together, I have a few mostly-done models to show for my hard work.

First a few death-cult assassins. I still need to touch up the green stuff a bit and add a few more bits before I consider these done.

Next, a few psykers. I'm not completely happy with how they look right now. Also, I know the RT pistols look kind of dumb, but they were the only small-sized pistols I had on hand. Also, if anyone's familiar with Berserk, the middle and right ones are supposed to be Schierke and Farnesse respectively.

Some crusaders. The Tau-in-poncho was my first green stuff-heavy conversion. Also, I'll probably change out the shield on the middle guy once I get some better storm shields (and I'll take off the rest of the mold lines I see now that I already took these pictures).

Finally, because my count-as-Coteaz isn't even close to done, here's my Counts-as-Valeria. I still need to finish adding on the rest of her fancy weaponry.

Once I get my hands on the meltaguns and plasma cannons I've ordered, I should have some servitors and warriors to share as well.

An update, at last. Finally got some more time to work on my inquisition army. After some close enounters with my Exacto knife and hand drill, I've completed two meltagun warriors (on the left) and two crusaders (On the right)

Here's a view of two of them from behind. The bear needs a bit of work still. The book was meant to be upside down, but I may go back and re-do it.

Also, two chimeras to transport my growing army.

Next up, I'll be working on my counts-as servitors, counts-as jokaero and maybe a few more warriors.

I'm thinking of getting some WHFB for conversions, but I'm not sure how the sizes compare to say a Tau body or a guardsman. Specifically, I'm looking at lizardmen skinks and skaven stormvermin. Does anyone know how they measure up? Would they be too out of proportion to use as conversion fodder for my henchmen?

Totaly chaotic, like a proper inquisitorial warband should be! Ilike the bear!

You shouldn't be worried about the one bullet with your name on it, Boldric. You should be worried about the ones labelled "to whom it may concern"-from Blackadder goes Forth!

Finally got some suitable fantasy parts; I got a stormvermin command group and lizardmen temple guard. (I thought the skinks might be too small after seeing them in person.)

I also managed to finish two more henchmen. The one on the left is a warrior made from chaos warrior, space marine and temple guard parts. The one on the right is my first counts-as jokaero. (I don't want too many real monkeys in may army.) I decided instead of just saying "It's digital weapons, screw wysiwyg" I would show my weaponsto remind myself of my shooting choices. Thus, I constructed a Super-battle-servitor (made of a tau drone, devastator lascannon, psilencer, and vehicle bits) for my rougue squat tech-preist to lug around.

Afew more I finished today.

First, my favorite of the bunch, a crusader made from the legs of the Temple guard I chewed up to make my warrior last time, a gorkamorka ork body, chaos warrior head, pagk arms, assault marines shield and tommb kings whip.

Next, generic storm bolter warrior.

Finally two dissapointing DCAs. One WHFB warrior guy with GK falchions, and one cobbled together from various bits (with lazy "power" combat knife glued to back). I was going to make it into a crusader but couldn't find a place to mount a shield.

Not every shadow, but any shadow

Nice work mate, I see you and I have chosen similar base models a few times but I've not been anywhere near as adventurous.

Love the Bear/Wookie great idea !

I've been on a roll lately, (but it's mostly because a box of cadians and the remanants of a box of pagk goes a long way towards warrior henches).

I felt inspired and wound up finishing 3 more tonight. Two storm bolter warriors on the left, and a DCA on the right (The right arm looks less beefy in person).

In case anyone's wondering, she's made fom FW legs, Cadian vox caster and helmet, a temple guard spear arm, Sword from Khorne berserkers, pointy finger from Wargames Factory Greatcoat troopers, and the head and torso are (totally not Tau) alien female parts from Zealot Miniatures. That may be a new record for me for number of models used in one conversion.

A lot of these I like. Though it looks like there's a lack of cohesion. It's cool that their all different but, it looks too random for my liking. The bear though is a great touch.

I finally finished my first servitor. Here he is with a warrior and a crusader.

This one isn't finished yet. I've been working on making a "chimera" out of an old APC model I found on sale at a hobby shop. It still needs quite a bit of work but it's almost the same dimenesions.

These are fantastic! Every single one is a character, and you're not getting any of the recognition you deserve. I've always wanted to do a real 'warband' =I= army, where each model is a unique henchman, picked up over the course of decades on different worlds and from different conflicts, but I've never really had the time. You've pulled this off incredibly! Hope that's what you were going for, apologies if I've missed the mark completely

I'll definitely be watching - keep it up!

Love the mix of medieval and futuristic in the latest henchmen - quintessential 40k. Also a massive fan of the kroot tank commander!

Oooh, and you might want to see if you can get a mod to move this to the P&M blog forum section - I think there's a bit of a bigger readership there

That might be a good idea. This is turning into a blog-like thing. I'll also be starting painting some of them soon. I've got to get 250pts worth ready for a campaign in early April. (I think I can get thet many painted by then, but I still need two more servitors.)

Also, I have a qustion for more experienced sculptors: I bought a package of milliput superfine as I heard that it's better for sharp lines, and is more easily file-able. I've never worked with it before; do I need to wear gloves, or would washing my hands afterward like I do with green stuff be ok?

It's been a while since I last posted. I've been taking a break to work on my Tau and space marine forces, but I've completed a few more henchmen, and started on my HQ (no pictures of him yet. There's not much to see).

Of course, it's every boltgun-wielding man's dream to someday upgrade to a storm bolter. However, when you're a mercenary in service to a radical inquisitor, you take what you can get. Not every warrior acolyte gets a storm bolter worthy of gracing the wrist of a grey knight. Some wind up with a clunky monstrosity ripped off of an old wrecked rhino.

Thankfully the Robo-Krootox is better armed, and smarter than a flesh-and-blood krootox to boot. He's fully qualified (and magnetized) to handle heavy bolters, plasma cannons, and servo-arms.

I love seeing all the conversions, it is a bit random but I think it'll all pull together in the end.
