So I have probably been reading through to much fluff, like most of us have but I want to try to make a weapon. After reading(over and over and over again) It does not say anywhere that both weapons in a "combi weapon" Have to be ranged. I understand it is a bolter mixed with another weapon. Thus I refer you to the fluff of the Adeptus Custodes and the guardian spear. While I understand there are many home gaming rules that allow you to do things that are not in a specific codex for fun purposes. But could you make a Combi weapon of a bolter and a power spear? Or is there a way to make a GW / GT legal version of this weapon that can be used for space marines? Also I dont want to use it on Grey knights, I have already ready stuff about them and space wolves about tweaking stuff. Thanks for any input

It doesn't seem like you really understand what a combi-weapon is.
A combi weapon is an X (as far as I know, always a boltgun) that can once - and only once - per battle be used as a Y (meltagun, plasma gun, flamer, and so on).
It doesn't make much sense to combine a melee weapon and a ranged weapon. Do you mean a melee weapon that could be used as a ranged weapon, but only once? That would be pretty crippling, since a lot of units end up engaged in more rounds of shooting than rounds of melee. Do you mean a ranged weapon that could only be used as a melee weapon, once? I'm not sure how that makes sense, but it would likewise be crippling. If combat goes on more than one round, whoever uses that weapon is going to be out of luck.
There are weapons that combine melee and ranged use. Any weapon with the Pistol keyword, for example (one shot, usually short range, counts as an additional hand weapon in combat). The Living Saint of the Sisters of Battle has a sword that shoots a template.
Other than that, well... honestly, I'm not sure what you're going for.

The reason I was asking about combi weapons is because it seems like one of the only was to combine 2 weapons that can be used by a space marine chapter that isnt like special character specific. I understand what combi weapons normally are and thats why I am asking the question. I basically was reading the fluff where the Adeptus Custodes have these weapons that are 2 handed that have bolters attached to them. So I was thinking of having a 2 handed weapon(or 1 if thats what would work) that lets me have a bolter attached to my power weapon. bellow is a thing I am copy and pasting from a different website but it may help give an idea of something I am trying to turn from fluff into a working miniature.
Custodians are typically seen with a Guardian Spear which, in the days before the Horus Heresy, was a combination of a Force Halberd with a Bolter. A Gladius is normally seen at their side, which serves as a Power Weapon. The Custodian Gaius Commodus carries a modified version of the ancient Guardian Spear. It is rumoured that the spear itself was a relic given to him by Constantine Valdor, the Captain-General of the Custodians during the Horus Heresy.
In Rogue Trader (1st Edition) the Custodes were the Guardians of the Emperor and the Imperial Palace. They wore simple but effective clothing: boots, leather breeches and a black cloak, their torsos were naked and corded with tattooed muscle, and they carried laser-tipped halberds said to have been built to resemble the traditional Guardian Spears.
basically I would like to make a power spear type weapon that has a little more to it, that isnt something people see every day on the tables.

From a modelling perspective - go for it
Just dont call it a "combi weapon", as that will confuse people.

This.
Calling it a combi weapon would be confusing. Oh and Paladin, from game perspectives a combi-weapon is normally a bolter and something else, but not all the time elsewhere. It can be any two weapons mixed together. Like a combi-plasma that is on a meltagun body instead of the bolter. But again I don't remember anything like that having existed in 40K tabletop.

BT uses the Codex Astartes as toilet paper. They’re an Imp Fist successor, recruit from multiple planets, and are known to be the largest Chapter in the galaxy. They’re basically an entire chapter of Chaplains. CC lunatics. What every Space Marine should aspire to be, if not trapped in a Matt Ward nightmare.

If you had say a captain with a bolter/storm bolter and relic blade or a normal power weapon then just take a halberd from GK and put it on the SM commander kit after converting the bolt weapon to fit on the handle. Personally I would be fine with it even being a bolt pistol though I am not sure you could convince a TO to let you have the extra attack if the spear is equipped as a 1 handed power weapon

I guess I could just stick with my plasma pistol 1h power weapon idea. I was just trying to go for something that was different but trying to see if it was even possible, and if it was tactically a worth while idea for the points.
