Subject: Pistols and special close combat weapons

So I know the pistol offers a +1 attack in close combat, and I was watching the "Rules you got wrong" video on MWG where dave talks about his powerfist and the pistol, and he said that the powerfist does not benefit from the +1 attack in close combat as its a special weapon.
There seems to be more confusion in the comments as some people are saying "Power fist and bolt pistol = +1 close combat attack" where others are saying power fists/thunder hammers are like lightning claws and need to be taken as a pair to get an extra power fist attack.
So I'm wondering - does the bolt pistol give an extra power attack/powerfist attack? On page 42 of the BRB it lists the bolt pistol as a "normal close combat weapon" so i assume that you do get an extra attack, HOWEVER it is simply JUST for a regular attack, not a power weapon/powerfist - am I correct with that?
I play necrons and tyranids, so I'm very curious/new to this. When I asked about Praetorians and their particle caster + void blade combo earlier this year on this forum people said that the pistol's extra attack would benefit from the void blade entropic strike quality along with the rending... is that true?
Thanks in advance guys, like I said, I'm new to this pistol silliness.

Look under Fighting with 2 single handed weapons on page 42. It's all there.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

For power fists, lighting claws, and thunder hammers, you also have to read the weapon specific rules.

A pistol counts as a single-handed CCW. So, it can be the 2nd CCW with the primary being a special or normal CCW, and you'll get a bonus attack.
However, Power Fists, Lightning Claws, and Thunder Hammers NEVER get the bonus attack for a 2nd CCW (be it a pistol or any other CCW), unless it's a 2nd PF/LC/TH.

Power Weapon: yes. Power Fist: no.

Yup. Conversely a plasma pistol would not get S7 AP2 in combat. It only give +1 attack in cc when paired with another CCW.

I was very sad when I realized giving my necron-wraiths pistols did not give them +1 Attacks. Briefly, I thought I had found the next sliced bread.
