Each player’s army must conform to the rules below
• Armies are no more than 500 points
• You must have one troop choice
• You may have one HQ choice but no more than one. You do not have to take an HQ choice.
• You may spend any remaining points on anything from your codex list from the Standard Troop Organization chart.
• No HQ model can have more than 2 wounds
• No special characters or Monstrous creatures allowed
• No 2+ saves or better are allowed
• No vehicles with a total armor equal to or greater than 33 for front, side and rear armor combined.
500 points
0-1 HQ, 1-6 Troops, 0-1 Elite, 0-1 fast Attack, 0 Heavy Support.
board is also 2x4
deployment is 6 inches
this is also an escalation league (something to consider)

18x Genestealers (252)
18x Genestealers (238)
with ten points left over

The idea is to hold them in reserve and outflank/multi-assault. The board is tiny! I'm kind of a newer player, but honestly I can't see much that could beat this. What weaknesses exist in this list?

The only problem i see when you outflank you may not get a charge off and could lose a good portion of your squads to shooting. If you have first turn you may want to consider infiltrating, because that way you can see where your opponent places their unit(s) and can get your squads into a good position for a possible first turn charge. Just some ideas to think about. Overall i think it is a really good list for the event.

I'm no math expert but 18x14 is always going to be 252...

Therefore, your list is 4 points over.

I assume you mean
Troops
18 stealers
17 stealers

If that is the case I think you should be very well off. I agree with the above poster that depending on who goes first infiltrating may be the best bet...especially on a tiny table. It may be too risky to outflank because you may get one unit turn 2 and not see the next unit till turn 4 or 5.

What types of missions do you see happening? Lots of objective style? Or kill point style?

i was worried about only getting one, but hopefully I can get off a multi-assault and keep them in combat and not strand them in the open when its over, I know its a gamble.

The other side of the internet

You should break up the stealer groups and think about taking a hiveguard or two just in case a rhino shows up. So maybe:

1 hive guard
11 stealers
11 stealers
10 stealers

You lose 3 stealers and gain some AT.

There would need to be a synapse creature in order to take the hive guard in this list unfortunately. Maybe a Zoanthrope? It has the capability to take down tanks easy but it would be a big target because it has to march on its own up the board. Maybe if the genestealers tie everything up reasonably well the zoanthrope could make it up there without getting hit too hard but that'd be a big risk.

Maybe a tyranid warrior with a venom cannon?

Something like

10x Genestealers 140

10x Genestealers 140

3x Tyranid Warriors 105
Venom Cannon?

2x Hive Guard 100

485

You'd have 15pts extra. You could even run the warrior naked just so you could run the hive guard but that's an expensive shield. Maybe shield with ripper swarms? I'm not sure. I'm just throwing out ideas.

Or

10x Genestealers 140

10x Genestealers 140

3x Tyranid Warriors 90

3x Ripper Swarms 30

2x Hive Guard 100

500pts exactly

The thing is the warriors would be limited in what they could contribute. Basically just there for synapse.
