Anyone got any Interesting Inquisitior Retinues? I am toying with an Inquisitor with Inquisition Troops and some specialists units like Adeptus Arbites. I intend to use them with my existing units of IG and have a similar or complimentary colour scheme :- I think the Pig Iron Miniatures System Troopers are awesome coupled with a converted Stormraven with the Chapterhouse stretch pieces. Still trying to flesh the concept out, so any inspiration would be welcome. But the overall theme is a "Martial Inquisitor" a very Military orientated one, who has numerous troops and resources at his disposal and is prosecuting his own little war.

My avatar may have already given it away, but I am a huge Deadlands fan. I would love to see a retinue (for any Independent Character, not just an Inquisitor) modeled after the four servants of the Reckoners. You'd have a mad science-y type (or a gaunt gambler-y type) for one, an undead gunslinger guy, a crazy preacher guy, and the evil Indian. (Maybe for the evil Indian, you could even use a Space Marine seconded from the Bear Claws!)
There's my thought on it.

I'm not normally an IG fan (hate the infantry models), but that one is GORGEOUS! What parts did you use? I don't recognize the face-is it from a different company? Really it's just the heads that get to me, I guess...

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

That looks like a bog-standard metal Kasrkin to me...
I'll be following this thread, I need some inquisitorial inspiration myself...

Yeah Tibbsy has it right, Kasrkin. I have a full army of Kasrkin which I run as a IG Veteran Army with Grenadier upgrade for each squad(Rather than as Elites ).
I find that the IG isn't military enough for me so I have tried to give them a more conventional military look, to reinforce that they are military professionals and not the meer cannon fodder everyone thinks they are (3 Special weapons in a squad is no cannon fodder!).
Edit I think a gunslinger Inquisitor with a bunch of Rogue Gunmen is an awesome idea. I like the thought of a Wild/ West / dystopian/ post apocalyptic band of Gunmen.
I like the Smuggler Look from the new SW Old Republic Game.
or maybe this
I might make a squad of Gunslingers as his retinue, like Dog the Bounty Hunter or something (More Necromunda style). Lots of Shotguns and Combi-weapons.
I could run them as a counts as Penal Unit with the Gunslinger rule?
I also like JIMSOLO's idea of a Shaman type on secondment from my other chapter, Ordos Xenos could have a Sternguard unit as a DEATHWATCH unit (An Iron Hand, Bear Claw and a few others!).
Maybe some Space Marine Scouts heavily converted, with lots of equipment on their thighs, like Grenades, Chest Rigs and coils of rope.

If you want stand alone Henchmen you don't need to convert: Schaeffer's Last stand characters or Guant's Ghosts are great models. The plastic SM Scouts are a good template for conversions. I've been mixing Empire greatswords and Cadian Shock troops to good effect.

If you are looking for some more game-play related advice, then the article in my signature might be of help.
The Wild-West penal legion idea sounds awesome to me, but it does go against the "martial theme" you wanted in the OP. (Personally I am just seeing a giant mechanical spider as a counts as dreadknight)
If you want them to fit in with you IG, there are a lot of options for shooting units of henchmen, the issue is that they compete against veterans in terms of effectiveness. You can get a squad with 3 meltaguns and a bunch of bolters, but wouldn't you just rather run them as BS4 instead?
I would look to some of the weirder shooting henchmen as they give you other options. Large Psyker squads for long range shooting, Jokaero units for their long range weapons and squad upgrades, maybe even some servitor units as well.
If you are going to run a Storm Raven, then you should probably run a squad of Close Combat Henchmen. If you are running a "counts as coteaz", he should not go in the storm raven,
I would offer more advice, but I am not sure what codex you are running for gaming or whether this is more of a modeling project then something that will hit the tabletop.

Have fun with it! The fun part of the older Inquisitorial Retinue rules were that they coudl represent so many weird aspects of the Imperium.
My old Inquisitor and Retinue were built for the C: WH rules, so are no longer valid as I understand, but I had fun with them. A bunch were just fun uses for leftover parts.
My Inquisitor (sorry for my poor paint job.) was based around liking the Enginseer mini.
Added Cypher's backpack, a plasma pistol and book, and I believe the sword was an add-on. Oh, and an I on his belt.
I had a second, but much less cool looking, Inquisitor as well:
For the retinue, this guy was some sort of expert type (can't remember the list term) made from WHFB command sprues and some leftover Tyranids.
I figure his role is the guy who figures out if xenos wildlife is 'dangerous' and reports it to the boss as needed. Added some cybernetics... Presumably he's got a HUD in one eye linked to a database in his back-mounted gear.
My familiar (a cyber-mastif from the Necromunda line) and Penitent Syker. The Penitent was made from a Necromunda Juve. Cut his hands off and inserted small plastic 'disks' for the handcuffs, which were then looped to his hands and backpack. Packback is (I believe) a chaos SM backpack upside down with some bits added, like all his hoses. I figure this poor guy's kept chained up and drugged a lot of the time, then let out when the Inquisitor needs him to be a 'lightning rod' for psychic powers.
Two priests. Mostly stock, I believe.
Two different 'medics'. The one is a stock Sister of battle, the other is a mix of the Gaunt's Ghosts medic character with a head from a WHFB sprue. I think I used some 'hooks' that looked unpleasant from a Kroot sprue to give him some nasty bits on his back. I figure he's the torturer, she's the healer... mostly.
