Imperial Recruit in Training

Leeds

Hello, as you can probably tell from my post count, I'm relatively new. I have collected gamesworkshop miniatures for years but have always failed in completing an army, so last year set about rectifying this. I have since built a Chaos Space Marine army which has never seen the light of day on a games table and has yet to be fully painted.

A short while ago, while coming to the end of assembling my first ever army my friend and gaming buddy suggested we start a joint project. After much deliberation, we decided on a joint Imperial Guard force, he was going to do Valhallans whilst I took a crack at the Mordians (he had always liked Valhallans since being a young boy and I just thought the Mordians looked cool). Setting a 1000 point limit, we drew up preliminary army lists, which have been amended over and over again and are still some way off being settled upon, we went and bought our first squads from the Gamesworkshop website.

Those squads have been here for some time now and are some way off being completed.

I'm hoping to maintain this blog as part of the project to capture the progress I make in building my second WH40K army and to help in keeping me going and ACTUALLY complete the project this time around. I'm not very good at converting and my painting skills can only be described as average, but any and all feedback would be appreciated.

My current army list:

HQ - Commissar Yarrick
HQ - Command Squad, (w) medic, grenadier and Master of Ordinance

Elites - Storm Troopers (w) extra troopers (x3) and grenade launcher (w) Chimera

Troops - Veteran Squad (w) Missile Team
Troops - Veteran Squad (w) Heavy Bolter

Heavy Support - Basilisk

As you might be able to tell...... I really don't want to spend too much money, nor do I have much of a plan other than to just bombard my enemies into submission... and you may also be able to tell I've never played a full game in my life. I just hope Yarrick lives up to his reputation and can save my a$$ because I really don't have a plan B. (BTW that's not the full 1000 points, it's just the bits and pieces planned upon thus far)

Anyway, stay tuned.Progress and pics to come shortly.
