Good day fellow wargamers
You have found yourself on my thread, either through Chance, boredom or through a shared love for Tau.
This is the start of a thread that I thought i'd start as a kind of documentation of the struggle that I am about to put myself through.
A quick background on myself (though I doubt that anybody cares if you want you can skip this paragraph); I'm 20 and I'm studying Marine Biology with Oceanography at university. I'm In my second year and have recently got back into wargaming (Mainly 40k). I started a Necron army and have realized that its not really my thing. Though they are a good army I am struggling to be compatible with their play style. Then there is the Tau. Tau are an army i have always really liked the look of, and although they may be in need of an update I have always enjoyed their play style and their fluff.
But we are all in tough times. Money is low... and I'm a student, I'm always broke. So i have set myself a challenge. I am going to build an 1850 point tau army for under £150. While this is still a lot of money it really is working to a budget.
Along with this thread I will also have a series of you tube videos. So do people think that this is an interesting idea?
Thankyou for reading

Three battleforce boxes off of Ebay? Or another online seller? Or maybe ask in the swapshop/bartertown. Might do you the trick, but I can't imagine any other real options besides those. Good luck.

Reality is a nice place to visit, but I'd hate to live there.

Well I was hoping to have a competitive list. So I'm still going to need heavy weapons ect. so the battle force wont be all that useful
Do any tau players have any advice for what I should take?

Plan your list first. Only get 6 Fire warriors if possible. Get the worst painted stuff you can it will be cheaper. Only get what you need and don't see something and go "Ooh thats cheap" and bid on it if you dont need it don't get it. Plan out your budget first and whenver you go to buy something set a budget and don't deviate from it.

eBay might be your best bet...get some dirt-cheap Crisis suits, stock up on some Hammerheads (~150 pts each), since Broadsides tend to be rather pricy. Troops-wise, grab some devilfish top slap your FW in (85 points a pop, since you'd be unwise not to take a DP with it). Granted, even with some pretty good discounts, you're going to cut it close. I spent about $700 USD on about 2700 points (however, about $300 of that was Forge World stuff I purchased). Just takes some eBay savvy and dedication, but I think it can be done!
