Lash still rules. Princes give you more options, but they cost, and they need to be protected.

Lash sorcerers can hide in a rhino. I usually run mine with berzerkers, that way you have lash to help the berzerkers get in combat, a fist champ to take out tough stuff, and a very high initiative force weapon that can mow down some regular troops before they attack.

Most forgiving is...

Two Lash or Nurgle princes (at higher points, optionally swap one for Abaddon in a land raider or Kharn in any transport, either attached to berserkers, plagues, or terminators).

Plagues with melta in Rhinos with combi-meltas for Troops.

As many Oblits as you can fit for heavy support, or havocs with quad missiles or quad autocannons.

Elites to taste and dependent on points available- cheap deep-striking squads of terminators with combi-meltas for antitank are the most popular.

I have a number of Chaos army list and battle report threads if you're interested. I do pretty well with them, and am presently the top-ranked Chaos player for the US on Rankings HQ. Not that that means all that much, but I'm at least competent.
