Arizona

Ok gents and ladies (if there are any).

Name is Matt. Live in Arizona currently though I am originally from Michigan (GO LIONS).

I've been in the hobby for quite some time. Around WHFB 5th and 40k 3rd. 1998 or so. I did well for a long time, even opened the GW store out here in the AZ Mills mall back in 2002 and I was at my peak... as it were... in hobby hierarchy but that leads me to why I left the hobby.

No it wasn't because of GW. Actually in 2003 I started having major back issues, again. This stemming from a previous surgery I had in 1993 for scoliosis that left me fused from T2 to T12. Basically one of the pieces of hardware slipped into the spine and was starting to cause a stenosis (for those that don't know that means a pinched spinal cord) causing pain, paralysis and other notsofun stuff.

Because of this I had to quit GW in early 2003 and have a second surgery to remove the evil part in question. Now as a result I jut wasn't able to sit for long periods, stand or even focus on something OTHER than pain, which affected my modelling skills (shaking, pain etc), playing time, strategic thinking.... it started being less fun for me and my priorities were "oh my gosh, how will I support my family in the future". I spent the majority of the next nine years trying to rehab through it. Physical therapy, pain management.. the works.

I finally got it sorted about six months ago and right one cue I get a sign from the gaming gods.... AKA my buddy Kyle.

Kyle (name drop) from 40k Radio started in on me... basically he was back in AZ after his stint running GW stores in CA, and really wanted to get me BACK in my game. Even threatened to start punching my man parts if I didn't get my crap together by the release of 40K 6th. So here I am. My man parts are thanking me.

Also full disclosure here, I am THE Morlock from Bartertown. (not an ego thing, just an FYI) That's what the BT stands for. I've been away from all of this for a long time, I've ignored my duties there for far too long as it is so most of the newer users probably are like "WHO?".
I Don't have a book past 3rd edition BUT with Kyle's help that's been proven to be a huge benefit as I guess the term OOP comes into play when selling my older stuff on this eBay thing to make way for my new armies. On to that....

I am going with my OG babies, Black Templars. I hope to be able to read through some of the better veteran threads and put together some sort of play by play blog of a gamer returning to the fold. Where you won't see me often, if at all, is YMDC forum. I WILL read about anything I have questions on but it just isn't my thing. Those that DO jump in that pool swim better than I do so I'll leave it to the pros.

Anyway I thought I'd reintroduce myself to the community. and.... yea.
