Hmmm....I look forward to a review (an actual good review, not most of the crap on youtube).
I am curious about;
* how long is the actual detail working time (a "sets in 5 min" might mean only 2m time where you can work with it before it gets too hard).
* how sticky is it - if you put water on your fingers does it help?
* How hard is it when dry; is it soft like greenstuff, or hard like apoxiesculpt?
* is it sandable
* is it toxic
* How well does it work with molds (I am guessing very well, as well, its sold together).
Thats some pretty fast stuff. The only stuff I have used that sets that fast is like the pipe repair stuff from the hardware store (which is good for filling huge gaps, but not really 'sculptable").
I may have to get it a test, if some reviews don't pop up.
Thanks for sharing.

So I ordered a pack of instant putty/instant mold and I am very delighted. I spent about 45 minutes reproducing the crouching legs of guardsmen from the heavy weapons team (I have always wanted an army of crouching guardsmen). Now to answer your questions.
* how long is the actual detail working time (a "sets in 5 min" might mean only 2m time where you can work with it before it gets too hard).
#It depends on how well you combine the putty. I wasn't timing myself but the first one I mixed set before I could get the mold situated correctly. I would say it stops being workable 3-5 minutes in.
* how sticky is it - if you put water on your fingers does it help?
#No stickyness! Some will get caked on your fingers, but you don't need/use water to work with it. It is a bit crumbly like playdough.
* How hard is it when dry; is it soft like greenstuff, or hard like apoxiesculpt?
#The ones I set today are hard/crumbly. The only real drawback is this stuff isn't ded 'ard when it dries: I can pick at it with my nails. But I would call it good enough to not break if it falls off the table.
* is it sandable
#Probably.
* is it toxic
#Hope not
* How well does it work with molds (I am guessing very well, as well, its sold together).
#Very well. I learned you have to make the molds well (have vents, don't overload the putty). But I crapped out like 5 of these legs sets in under and hour (more like 40 min) and each one looks great. I'm going to make a s$%^ load of plasma guns tomorrow.
Overall very satisfied. It will be quite a while before I am done replicating all the parts I want, and I'm having fun. Highly recommend it!

Yes, thanks for the review sir!!
Any chance we could get a pic of a final product, to see;
The texture of the material?
How well it captures detail?
thanks!

I have used that stuff. Not for detail work, but for adding structural support to thin jetbike bases and such, and it works great. Stinks like a hundred rotten egg farts, though.

From the color I am guessing that this is just another type of epoxy that you can get from the hardware store, either in the plumbing or glue section. I get all my 2 part epoxy from Home Depot or Wal Mart. Home depot has a better selection. I pay from US$5 to $9 for a 2oz. tube. I use Blue/White "plumbers" putty that sets in 5 minutes, Same colors that sets in 15 minutes and regular Greenstuff that sets after about an hour.
This stuff I tried and stopped using because of the crumbly nature of the product. It is usually sold a s a black/white or black/grey tube. If you want something that is a bit more like greenstuff in consistency then just get the 5 minute Blue/White plumbers putty. Just wet your fingures with water OR the better way is to use either chapstick, hand lotion or KY Jelly. They are all better than water as they last a lot longer. I prefer KY Jelly as you can just rinse it off with plain water after your done. The others need soap and a bit of scrubbing, but some people prefer certain things so try them all.
I would never pay what repackaged hobby supplies cost. It is a joke. Even if you do not have a store close to you then just get on the internet and go to Lowes.com or homedepot.com. Both sell the stuff online and both charge a great deal less for it as well. Buy your super glue there as well. The only "labelled" hobby product I use is Testors plastic glue. The one in the black bottle with the metal "needle" tip. I have found nothing that is better.
So stop the insanity and pay reasonable prices for your supplies so you can save the extra money for more toys.
Oh! And for all your hobby tools. widgetsupply.com

The Orks are the pinnacle of creation. For them, the great struggle is won. They have evolved a society which knows no stress or angst. Who are we to judge them? We Eldar who have failed, or the Humans, on the road to ruin in their turn? And why? Because we sought answers to questions that an Ork wouldn't even bother to ask! We see a culture that is strong and despise it as crude.

I was talked into buying a pack of this at Adepticon and have been pleasantly surprised with it. I normally use Amazing Mold Putty for pressmolds and some simple 2-part molds. What I like about the Instant Mold is that it's reuseable once I'm done with the mold.
The putty is exactly as Gruesome described and works pretty much like Mighty Mold. I'd say they would be interchangeable.

I actually use Billy Mays's Mighty Putty to attach anything from scenery to small metal bits. It works great.
I've gotten my Infinity Aleph figures attached to a base via their high heels with only Mighty Putty and super glue.

Not trying to necro this, but I picked up a pack of this stuff, and it doesn't seem to be working for me at all. The putty won't set.
I cut it into the size I want, smush it together for a bit, and then form it to the shape I want. Is there something I'm supposed to be mixing it with that I'm missing here? Any help would be appreciated.

As far as i can see you need equal parts of each of both strips.
Then it really should work quite like greenstuff

Yeah, it's just a two part epoxy. Make sure you mix it thoroughly be twisting and kneading.

Are there two parts in the same tube? I purchased the instant mold/instant putty pack, and got 3 sticks of instant mold, but only 1 stick of instant putty. I'm very confused!

The instant putty is a two parter, but the second part is wrapped inside the first. If you look at it down the long end, you should see a darker putty wrapped in the lighter putty (or vice versa).
You cut off a circular piece and knead it together. The bad part of the design is that if left too long, the putties start to react to each other, so it has a shorter shelf life.
