Curious if this would be allowed... as far as I can tell it should be, but I have been known to be wrong before.

Assuming I do the below two squads,

3x Meganobs with Battlewagon Deffrolla
20x Ork shootabotz with Trukk

Can I start the game with the MANz in the Trukk and the Boyz in the Wagon?

No. If a vehicle is purchased as a dedicated transport, only the dedicated unit can start the game riding in it.

No, you cannot. Dedicated transports cannot start the game with units other than the one that purchased them embarked.

What you can do is have the boyz and the meganobz start the game near the truck and the wagon, and embark during the movement phase.

You can't start with another unit in them if they are decicated...but you could start the game with them deployed next to it and then hop in first turn and drive off.

It's kind of confusing. 20 boys cannot buy the truck nor can they even fit in the trukk. Boys can buy a BW either way and MANz can buy the trukk either way so i'm not sure what you are trying to get at. So ya you can start the MANz in the trukk and the boys inthe wagon. But you can't get out of the wagon to move to the trukk because you have too many boys.

It states om Codex: Orks that only mobs of 12 or fewer can buy a truck.

Boys cannot buy a battlewagon as a dedicated transport. Only Nobs/MegaNobs can. Otherwise it's a Heavy support choice (and then anyone can use it)

I guess its because the Boyz cannot take the BW as a dedicated transport, so you have to burn a HS slot to get a BW for them to start the game in and the OP is trying to dodge around burning the HS slot.

Page 67 for the rules on dedicated transports, which are entirely unambiguous about what you can do with them

Ahh. Somehow missed the part about only 12 boyz can get a truck. Thanks for the clarity, and yes I was trying to get bw, without losng hs spots.,
