Arlington TX, but want to be back in Seattle WA

I am fanatic of the Blood Angels and all of its successor chapters. Great work on the dreadnought. The red is nice and bright. I like the chipping effects on the black.

Looking good. I love the Angels Sanguine scheme. Only thing that's a bit weird to me on this is the back.

Thank you, friend.

Something that I learned in the Chipping/Battle Damage painting process is that you cannot paint it exactly the same way on Dark and Light Armor and achieve the same result. If you notice in the pics, the chipping shows up very well on the black side of armor. However, I painted it exactly the same way on the red side, and it doesn't show up as well. What I discovered through researching is best described in the following link http://fromthewarp.blogspot.it/2011/10/using-standard-pencil-for-weathering.html. Everything that Ron produces over at From the Warp is gold.

To sum it up, on light armor, you must paint a dark grey or black on the armor first (think of it as primer paint revealed under the chipping). Then, you paint or otherwise apply your metallic color inside the dark.

Thank you.

I love meeting folks who play and paint Angels Sanguine. I started playing them in 2008. I painted up an Angels Sanguine army under the previous codex (current at that time). I loved painting and playing them so much that they quickly usurped the position of my Imperial Guard as my primary army. I really haven't looked back since.

I did suffer a slight setback in 2010 when all my vehicles (tanks mostly) were stolen. Ahh but that is a different story for a different time.

Yeah I actually always base chips with a dark grey color then the chip. It just seems to give it more depth. I will have to check that guys stuff out though it looks really helpful. Thanks.
