Hey all!
I am starting up a Wood Elves army if money comes through, and I was wondering what I should look at once I move past the 2k mark, and a few other things.
Currently I'm thinking of buying a battalion and using the Glade Guard as Warhawk Riders, but putting them on magic carpets instead since I'm cheap and it seems cool, especially for events and such.
That would give me only a loss of the Dryads, but even then I'd be able to use them later on. So how would you all suggest making the magic carpets? I'm thinking take a piece of plasticard and putting Green Stuff on top to add details to the carpet, and to make better looking model. For those that are wondering, here's my list:

Treeman Ancient

2x Spellsingers on horse with Lore of Beasts Lv1

8x 3 Warhawk/Magic Carpet Riders

3x 5 Glade Riders

6 Glade Riders

That comes out to about 1980-1990 points for a 2k list.

I'm not sure why you would do this..

As for the carpets, why not butterflies?

Why not let them ride a refridgerator? There are more dumped refridgerators in a forest than carpets.
Or is there any other idea what carpets have to do with wood elves?

BTW be aware that Wood Elves are currently on the low end of competitiveness. Seems that even GW has no idea how to fix this army now that skirmishing has been nerfed.

I suggest keeping away from Warhawks with a ten foot pole and get some dryads, Treekin or some Glde guard instead.

If you're interested in Joey's Youtube channel, you might also like mine- she's more fluff orientated, whereas my Wood Elf reports are more focused on competitive gaming and list building.

I realize I won't win much. The manager at the local GW told me that when he saw my list. Doing combat blocks initially got me out of 8th. I find massive blocks of infantry boring. Currently I play a good bit of Hordes, so doing trickery will be a fun change of pace. I'll try and do butterflies, or something of the like, but carpets are easier for a guy like me with a lack of modelling skill. I need to adjust my list a bit and drop a mage for some goodies on the Treeman...

It's not really an issue of winning, as much as I don't think you will have much fun playing the list.

You don't need to go down the big comabt block route to have a good wood elf army that is enjoyable to play.

How fun are kindreds? I'm thinking of doing some characters with kindreds after the initial 2k points are finished.
