So this will be a blog(ish) kinda of thing-a-ma-jig that can showcase me as I struggle and hopefully succeed at building an Eldar Empire to rule the universe. hopefully there will be a progression of me getting better as i add more and more photos to this blog. If not, I am clearly doing something wrong. I will be taking most of the photos with my Iphone 4s due to the convenience of it and lack of a better camera. Not that it has a bad camera on it. So here we go....

SIDE NOTE: I started warhamemr thinking I was a Tau player.... When i realized all they do is shoot and run from CC, I immediately switched. Dont get me wrong, I love me some guns, but I also like having options.

Eldar caught my attention when I read a little bit about them and their low numbers dying race. Reminded me slightly of spartans and 300 vs a million. They I read how they used to basically be top tier number 1 rulers and it reminded me of the Romans. When the Eldar fell and turned into what they are now, I thought "hey sounds like the fall of the Roman empire". So I put space elf spartan romans together in my head. How can you say no. Boom, new Eldar player.

Painting: I hope to achieve a balance between what I think looks Roman or Spartan-like or greek mixed with the original Eldar colors.

First set I purchased, Guardians. Knew nothing about the game upon purchase. Thought hey check these dudes out and their cool weapon platform, PEW PEW!

Starting to wonder weather I like citadel fine-cast or not. They seem pretty hit or miss with the casting.

Nailed some Fire Dragons and Howling Banshees today.

First vehicle has to be a Wave Serpent. Constructions were slightly confusing as they give you the Falcon guide and you just kinda do whatever you think is right. I fully magnetized this puppy so I can pick whatever load out I want.
Also got a Wraithlord. May not be the best pick for a heavy slot or for the points but they sure do look awesome.

The instructions have the Falcon, Fire Prism, and Wave Serpent builds in them. I have 3 of them in a drawer along with a ton of decal sheets.

Epic first post! I like your colour scheme, and it looks like you're having fun with it. Let's see what else you come up with! Had any ideas for conversions yet?

Hmm that is odd about the instructions. Mine only really explains the falcon. It's one sheet folded in half with 3 steps.

And I have not yet tried my hand at green stuff. It seems scary. I have also not based my Models yet. I will get to that. My free time has just increased due to an internship ending, so I will post as often as possible.

The only conversion I thought about was slapping my farseer on a dragon from warhammer fantasy lol. Or using part of the Balrog model from lotr to add to the avatar.

Ok so I had some time on my hands and decided to continue to magnetize all of my aspect warrior Exarchs so that I can swap out weapons. I use 1/16 x 1/32 discs for my infantry or small things and 1/8 x 1/16 discs for vehicles and the likes.

I also got some paint in for my scorpions. This base layer of dark angel green. Then hit it wit a thin mix of 50/50 scorpion green and dark angel green. The did a thicker wash of Scorpion green. Kinda like how its looking so far. Gotta figure out where to incorporate the gold. Probably the shoulder pads and helmet again. Id like to get their dreads to look really cool. I find that feature about them looks alot like Predator. Which goes hand in had with what these guys do! Anyway, here is pics...








The scorpions weren't quite dry yet, but probably will be by the time this is posted.

Now that I am up to date with everything I have done I will try to make smaller more detailed posts and explain a little more what I am doing. Thanks for looking
