Hello all,
Here is my list for my new Necron Army. Id like it to be semi competitive (perhaps not the best choice of words, maybe more of a blend of being strong
and fun to play.) Any feedback (organization, wargear etc.) is much appreciated.
I guess the most important thing to note is the fact that I am on a budget, so that hampers my ability to make a list. This army is a mix of things I like that I can do at a reasonable price.
Please keep that in mind.

HQ
Imotekh
Overlord (Warscythe, Res Orb, Sempiternal Weave) (had exactly 15 to spare, which explains the semp weave)
Harbinger of Destruction (Solar Pulse)
Lord (Warscythe, Res Orb)

Troops
10* Warriors (Ghost Ark)
10* Warriors (Ghost Ark)
20*Warriors
10* Immortals

Fast Attack
10* Scarabs

Heavy Support
Annihilation Barge
Annihilation Barge

Any feedback is appreciated.

Somewhere over the rainbow, way up high

If you aren't going to use the courts to their fullest, i would drop Immotehk, grab MSS on the lord, phaeron, MSS and res orb on the overlord, and two more lanceteks, this will leave with with points to spare to buy more scarabs to help vs armor (you may wish to even out the two scarab squads out, but that is up to you.)

Plan is phaeron with orb goes into the 20 man squad, making them able to move, rapid fire and then assault, thats 40 shots, and then 40 melee attacks (with 4 power weapon attacks), which will be devestating. Place the solar pulsetek with this group

Put the lord in with the immortals, that'll make another strong pushing unit.

You'll have to drop one warrior from each squad to do it, so drop each 10 man warrior squad to 9, throw in a lancetek in each, and have them fly around in the arcs, firing with the arcs, flayers from the warriors, and the lances.

These ideas require minimal change to your list, however, it won't be strong against heavily vehicle'd lists, which is the only caviat.

Bedouin Dynasty: 10000 pts
The Silver Lances: 4000 pts
The Custodes Winter Watch 4000 pts

Never been a fan of Imotekh. I think the lightning strike thing is a bit meh for the points. Plus night fighting hinders your army as much as the opponent's, especially considering Necrons are a shooty force.

Not sure what the Overlord and Lord are meant to be doing here. The Overlord should be a Phaeron and go with the big block of Warriors.

I would have to also agree with you guys.. Imotekh is tooo much for lower point level games.. Iguy91 i would def do what your talking about here.. that sounds very logical to me.

Funnily enough, i was planning on running something similiar to what Iguy91 proposed. problem was that
i completely forgot that relentless also worked on rapid fire weapons (was thinking it was just heavy weapons, didnt have my rulebook in front of me when i was thinking this up.) This is why i ommitted giving the overlord phaeron. Any suggestions on how to arm the immortals? I cant decide if its better to give them tesla or stick with the gauss.
My deployment idea was to run the hqs as suggested, with the GA's flanking the 20 man hq bunker (to fix up the warriors in that unit.)

I don't think the tesla is worth it IMO. Immortals firing tesla carbines will hit 7 times and on average get a single 6, that's 9 hits in total. Gauss blasters at range will get 7 shots, though when in rapid fire will hit 13. They also have the gauss rule and AP4.

If you're hanging about at range, then the tesla and there's no need for a Phaeron with the unit. If you're getting close then gauss blasters and yuo need a Phaeron.

I too agree with Mercer.. the only tesla i run is with the Doom scythe and annihilation barge.. and thats standard equpment.. other then that.. its gauss all the way. to glance a vehicle on a 6 well worth it.. a basic warrior can stop a land raider in its track with some good luck with dice rolls.. not many other races can say the same thing about thier basic troop choice. Gauss is where its at for necrons.

From the looks of it, it seems like you're using 2x Battleforces and 2x Command Barges.

I made a fairly workable 1500 point list using the same ingredients (plus one Overlord model, but only because it looked much cooler than the Barge Lord models):

Overlord (Scythe, MS Scarabs) = 115
+Command Barge (Gauss cannon) = 80
2x Lord (Scythe, ResOrb) = 75

20 Warriors = 260 (+ Lord)
+Ghost Ark = 115
20 Warriors = 260 (+ Lord)
+Ghost Ark = 115
10 Immortals (tesla) = 170

10 Scarabs = 150

Annihilation Barge = 90

Using the OldCron tactic of "Walk across the board", with ResOrb Lords and Ghost Arks in support, those two bricks of Warriors were tough to deal with.
With Scarabs and the Barge Overlord, I had anti-tank covered.
The Immortals and the Annihilation Barge were able to handle infantry.

I've since made an alternative version that worked pretty well-
I split one 20 Warrior brick up and stuck 6 Warriors in each Ark (stuck the Lord from that unit in with the Immortals). I used the extra 130 points on some MSS for the Lord I stuck with the Immortals, and 2 Harbingers of Destruction, one with a Pulse (made from Warriors with a Deathmark heads, their Gauss flayers replaced with little rods to represent Lances).
I stuck the LanceTeks in the Ghost Arks with the 6 Warriors, then I flanked the remaining 20 Warrior brick with BOTH Arks. With a ResOrb in the unit main unit, and two Ghost Arks pumping out fresh Warriors each turn, there was no way that squad could die.

Tabled an Ork player on turn 5, so I guess it worked ok?

Automatically Appended Next Post:
I just wish I could figure out some way to get a second Overlord into my list, so I could have a way to give the Warrior brick a Phaeron...

*shrug*
