I've been working on this for about a month now and after a lot of blood, sweat, and tears I am happy to say it is finally completed! It's based on the design by Studio Oxmox for THQ that was given away as promotional prizes with the release of the Space Marine video game. This measures 37" tip to tip and weighs around 4lbs.

Constructed out of lots of materials -
The handle is resin cast around pvc pipe which forms the grip itself and runs about 2 feet into the blade to give it strength and stability. The blade is pink foam sheathed in MDF and then fiber glass for extra strength! The details on the blade are mostly styrene plastic with some resin bits as well.

The inscription on the side reads in High Gothic "Imperator Dentes Ruminant Omnes" which roughly translates to - The Emperor's Teeth Chew All.

The Hilt reads "Pax Imperium" which translates in essence to - The entire world (galaxy) is the Imperium, or basically we rule all!

Painted with an airbrush and by hand using acrylic paints and given many coats of spray varnish to protect it on the bloody battlefields of the 41st millennium!

Thanks for looking!

That is some glorious work. Lovely colour choices, but I feel that the text along the flat of the 'blade' is somewhat lacking. It's a pretty mediocre font, and doesn't suggest grimdark battle at all.
Apart from that though, it's a great reproduction. Good job.

However, Pax Imperium roughly translates to "peace of the empire"

I don't have a problem with this, the military of the Imperium as it stands is primarily defensive, attempting to establish and maintain peace for humanity, although being warlike. I like to think that there was a transition period between the Imperium's expansion and the Heresy, similar to the Pax Romana, but much briefer...

I totally agree about the font, sadly. I wish I had a cnc machine or laser cutter to be able to create a cooler looking font but unfortunately I have to make due without them. Hand cutting the lettering would have ended up looking sloppy so I actually used stick on vinyl letters and there was only one font choice I could find :(

In the end I don't feel it detracts from the look at all, but it certainly could have been cooler!

Quite right, except it literally translates into "peace of the empire". I used it in the spirit of "Pax Romana" or "peace of rome" but with the idea that through the weapons of war we bring peace to the galaxy for mankind I guess my rough translation was too rough lol

Still, thanks for the great feedback everyone! It's very appreciated after all the work that went into it!

Actually "Pax Imperium" is quite fitting here, even humorous in the most highbrow way.
As I recall one of the historians(whose name presently escapes me), describing Roman warfare, noted that "Romans will come, kill everything, including cats and dogs, and call that peace," hence "Roman peace". Describes Imperum of Man perfectly, I think.
Also obvious allusion to the Augustus' Golden Age is fitting as well.

epic work.

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.
