Is it possible? If so, or if not, can you please cite where the information is?
Thankyou

Is the transport part of the same unit it's carrying?

Yes. Its 10 lootas in a battlewagon. I think the entry on page 67 sorta kinda says something about this, but its unclear.

The question is also answered in the main rulebook FAQ since it's a common question. ;-)
They're not the same unit, they can fire at different targets. If someone tells you otherwise ask him to show you where it says they're the same unit. Transports would be pretty useless if they could only move as fast as the slowest model. And ask how the transport embarks on itself, since the whole unit must embark.

The lootas are 1 unit the battlewagon is another. Check the shooting rules for units firing should solve it there. Remember they are 2 units not 1.

No, it's not part of the same unit. Ever.

Q: Must passengers fire at the same target that their
vehicle is firing at? (p66)
A: No, they are a separate unit (albeit they are
temporarily co-existing with the vehicle) and so can fire
at a different target
Freaking awesome!!!!!
