Anybody have any suggestions on what i should use to stomp some dark eldar????? Specifically wyches and Incubi.......they shred my warriors to bits and whip ALL my XV suits.... I cant shoot them because they are all in skimmers....
Also i need advice on stopping their skimmers that are protected with flicker fields....is there anything that can by pass them?

Nothing can by-pass them. Flicker Fields are Invulnerable Saves. They work when the raider is being assaulted, too.

Any h2h you're going to lose, even girls on XV8s.

You're going to win or lose on Deployment (and whether or not you get Turn 1). The one game my DE lost to tau, was due to his stealing the initiative. He downed enough boats that I got cut down trying to get into assault range. IF game hadn't ended on 5, the 2 units of wyches that did reach his lines, would have finished off enough to win.

Hug your edge, the very edge, and I mean absolute edge, in Pitched, Spearhead & DoW. Spearhead will prolly mean you lose anyway. Unless you go in all Reserve, depending on the mission and table.

The game where *my* tau beat DE, was due to staying out of range, using the MPs. Once down, I shot up warriors and wyches with the BCs and MPs.

Crisis Suits. MP/BC. STR 5 BCs will hurt the boats too. Field as many as possible. Don't Field FKs and get sucked into 12" rapid fire for the Plasma Rifles. Use the MPs' 36 range to stay out of the skimmers' assault range. (pivot ~1.5, 12", disembark ~2+, Run 3.5 average, 6 max, Assault 6 ; total of 25.5 to 29 inches). Only come in range of the BCs if you're cornered. I say no to Deathrains, as it's not enough volume to kill off the DE troops once downed, as even two girls can whip XV8s. Yes, because the DE player will still have his agonizer wielding hekatrix sprinting for your Anime power suits.

Fire at a raider/venom until it is stunned or down. Shaken isn't good enough. After that, they're on the ground and you have volume to blow 'em away.

What models do you own?

When I play my brother's Tau he runs a ton of Deathrain Crisis Suits I think he called them. TL-Missile Pod with the BS upgrade is a monster suit against tin foil rockets. With the squad leader you can skip the BS upgrade and get Target Lock I believe it is, which allows him to split fire in a pinch. If you prioritize the incoming assault elements you shouldn't have much problem especially with venom spam lists where there may only be 1 or 2 CC squads.

What the above poster said - Take teams of XV-8's with Twin Linked Missile Pods and a Team Leader with a Hard wired target lock. All suits should have targeting arrays, too. If you win first turn deploy in the rear of your deployment zone, if you have to go second I would try to block LOS to your suits if possible. Either way in your first shooting phase shoot his boats with assault units down one by one, then shoot his boats that fire weapons second. Once the DE mobility is dead, just focus on foot units one by one and watch them cower in fear.

Also take 6 man FW teams in Devilfish with SMS and burst cannons and targeting arrays and disruption pods. 180 points for a light tank that fires 7 shots when moving combat speed (multi tracker too). s5 ap5 is scary to his infantry and can crack open raiders and venoms if necessary.

Above all if he gets close enough to be an assault threat, do not clump your models so that he can multi-charge. If nothing else, throw some Fire warriors in his way and make him assault those before your crisis suits. Kroot are also good for this - put them as a roadblock between your suits and his attackers.

Load up on missile pods, leave the railguns at home for DE, and you'll do fine. a 5++ flickerfield is a pain in the butt, but when you cause 3 and 4 penetrating hits per turn you'll crack his skimmers.

Been out of the game for awhile, trying to find time to get back into it.

^ This. I recommend using the empty hardpoint for a multi-tracker so you can fire both weapon systems simultaneously.

And I'd also recommend Hammerheads over Broadsides, their pie plate can actually insta-gib his infantry in one shot (It needs some update love...) .

Crisis suits are amazing, but against dark eldar, spam tau fire warriors. They're strengh 5, so they can destroy their tanks and wound their infantry on a 2+. They are also 30" range, so can shoot em first turn. I would recommend
HQ - Crisis Battlesuit Commander
2 BodyguardsAll armed as above

As many Fire warriors as possible, and then just the rest of the points in markerlights.

(Sorry, I don't have the codex, so can't refer to points)

Replacing a brother's ammunition with blanks is not "funny".

So suits with burst cannons and missile pods with Heavy 4 is the way to go against DE??? What about Com. Farsight and his increased weapon skill and 3-7 bodygaurd team???

Have never lost to DE with Tau (except for one i-ll fated Farsight bomb lol..).
As above- MPs are amazing. Volume of fire.
Kroot are fabulous.
You do need a couple of devil fish with drones for blocking.
JSJ, you'll be fine.
Have tried bigger firewarrior squads, but they're still awful.
Have always had pretty good leverage from pathfinder squads-
DE lives for cover.. deny it lol.
Target prioritize (gun down the wych and incubi raiders first- always).
Bait with infiltrated Kroot.
Don't use Farsight, you need to spread your eggs + wychs have 4+ invul

Automatically Appended Next Post:
Flamer for third hardpoint on Deathrains is also very good against DE. Wait til they reach your lines. 4pt upgrade!

There is no Heavy 4 gun for Crisis Suits. That's the Smart Missile System, for tanks and Broadsides. Missile Pods are a 2 gun item for Crisis Suits only.

Farsight and his crew will get nabbed by a wyche crew and then tarpitted, taking away your main One-Trick-Pony.
