Hello! I had originally posted this on the Official Infinity Boards - But to celebrate Dakka getting it's own Infinity forum I'll post it here as well for those who don't dwell on the other side. Hopefully this will spread the word to non-Infinity'ers how much fun and cinematic the game can be!

Paradiso - Outpost Koros VI

O-12 Intelligence confirmed reports of a hostile alien strike group advancing towards the vicinity of forward outpost Koros 6. After alerting the outpost's inhabitants of an imminent offensive made against them, an elite team of Ariadna's finest were dropped into the area to stop the alien advance.

The team consisted of;
Lieutenant Jock Stewart of the Mormaer regiment, armed with the highly effective T2 Rifle.
Leon Bukharin, a Veteran Kazak also with a T2 Rifle.
Pierre le Grande and Jean-Marie la Roux from the Merovingian Para-Commandos. Equipped with HMG and Rifle.
Francois and Evangeline la Beau from the Merovingian Chasseurs. Equipped with Rifles and Underslung Flamethrower and Adhesive Launcher.
Gregor Illich, Vladimir Konstanza and Benes Lambert providing support from the Kazak's regiment, sporting a HMG and several Rifles.
Finally, from the Kazak Doctors Dara Lune.

The alien group in question were from the Combined Army's Morat Aggression Force. A hardy bunch of warriors set with the task of taking the compound by storm and overloading the Plasma Generators - Reducing it to rubble and removing a possible human staging point for the coming invasion.

According to what intelligence was available, the Morat strike group contained;

3 of the so-called 'Yaogat' as to which one was the senior officer.
5 standard Vanguards, one was identified as a medic while another hefted the dreaded heavy machine gun. These seemed to operate as one unit in a linked manner.
Reports also speculate that a member of the 'Rasyat' drop troops were present who wielded the Combined Army's equivilent to a Spitfire.
Finally, a member of the Kurgat engineering corps was on hand to provide support with his heavy MK12 rifle, and to overload any critical systems.

Turn 1:
MAF:

With the Morat Strike Group beating the Ariadnian's to the compound (First Deployment) and taking the initiative (First Turn) they started to fan out in a standard take-and-hold procedure.

The three-strong team of Yaogats began a sweep through one of the larger habitation modules and into a narrow alleyway between several of the buildings. Crates and other debris left by the outpost inhabitants provided ample cover for the team as the Yaogat Lieutenant barked orders through his helmet-mounted comms to the rest of the squad to move up.

The Vanguard team took up positions around a Warehouse with the Kurgat taking cover behind a low wall, looking down the barrel of his Mk12, he noticed movement near one of the entrances to the compound - propping his weapon on the wall he provided a supressive fire corridor across the compounds entrance. At that the Yaogat Lieutenant ordered for the Rasyat - who was standing-by just outside of the complex, to launch in.

For reasons unknown to the Lieutenant, the Rasyat's Heads-up Display programmed in the wrong coordinates and he landed outside of the target zone. He would have to continue on foot to reach the outskirts. Finally having issued all of his orders the Yaogat took a breath and waited, eyes peeled for possible hostiles.

Ariadna:
Poking his head around the corner slightly, Lieutenant Jock Stewart caught the glint of a weapon aiming in his general direction. He held his fist up in a ball to Para-Commando's Pierre and Jean-Marie motioning them to stop and drop as their entry to the compound was compromised.

A second later, Chasseur Evangeline's voice cracked over the comm-link about the sound of a jet pack landing nearby - Jock Stewart ordered her to advance forward and provide suppressive fire down their flank if a target should appear.

His next orders were for Veteran Kazak Leon Bukharin to advance towards the main generator control unit and secure it. Upon rounding a corner Leon quickly noted a Yaogat staring him down - A slight flutter of panic washed over him as he glanced at the shoulder mounted launcher of the Morat while bringing up his T2 rifle to bare - Luckily for Leon, in utter surprise the Yaogat also raised his rifle and managed to fire off a shot from it instead of the dreaded shoulder launcher.

Tesium rounds and Morat rifle slugs darted back and forth quickly between the two combatants, but the Veteran's aim was true and managed to riddle the Yaogat with multiple holes. Sealing its fate. Again he found himself charging forward towards the next set of crates as the second Yaogat came into view - This time a shot from the Yaogat's shoulder-mounted weapon screeched past the Veteran Kazak, just inches away...

A short accurate burst from his rifle found it's mark in the Yaogat's head - Securing its demise. Looking to his left he found Chasseur Francois taking cover near a planter. With a quick sit-rep from the Veteran, Francois moved forward - Knowing there was one more Yaogat ducked behind the boxes taking cover from the hail of tesium rifle rounds. With a quick flick of a switch on his rifle, the underslung flamer came to life - Sticking the weapon around a corner he pulled the trigger...

... And toasting the Yaogat Lieutenant with a white-hot ball of flaming death.

Turn 2:
MAF:

"Hostiles! We have hostiles on my position – Requesting sup-...."
The last thing the rest of the group heard from the Lieutenant was naught but static. Grimly, the Vanguard team looked to eachother for leadership - After a short debate between two of them and a vicious right-hook a battlefield promotion was in order. While this was going on between the two Vanguard warriors, the rest of the group split up in an attempt to claw some form of vengeance back. Charging from the warehouse entrance the Vanguard Heavy Gunner saw the last of the flames flicker and die down from the position of their ex-lieutenant and his grinning assailant who was refilling the napalm canister on the side of his rifle.

With a cry of rage the Vanguard opened up on Chasseur Francois with the Heavy Machine Gun, Francois tried to dodge out of the way from the hail of heavy rounds dancing around him but ultimately failed – cutting him to ribbons. In an attempt to get to a better position, the Vanguard Medic ran across open ground though sadly into the line of fire of Veteran Leon, who managed to shoot his legs out from under him... With the medic down all hope of reviving his fallen comrades bled out with him. Meanwhile, the Rasyat entered the compound from the outskirts of the battle. Exhausted from running and the silence from his comm-link made him loose concentration... All that was needed for Chasseur Evangeline to rip into him with the full burst of her rifle down the suppressive fire corridor she had set up.

The Morat advance had hit a brick wall.

Ariadna:
With the generator secure by Veteran Leon, Benes Lambert of the Line Kazak's received orders to move up his HMG around the back of the warehouse and attempt to break the Kurgat fire corridor. Within a few short seconds he had pressed himself against the wall of the warehouse, resting his weapon on the wall he squeezed the trigger in the direction of the Kurgat...

The Morat trooper hefted his weapon up, cancelling out his effective suppressive fire lane and managed to get a quick shot off at Ben - Both failed to execute their target which gave Lieutenant Stewart, Para's Pierre le Grande and Jean-Marie an opportunity to break from cover and charge through the gate. Pierre “Machinegun Pete” opened up with his weapon from the hip and through sheer volume of fire quickly turned the Kurgat into a bloody pulp on the floor.

It was at this point word from high command reached the Morat team to fall back with all available units. The battle was a complete failure with little hope of victory against such odds.

In conclusion:
A clear victory for the Ariadnian response team.
The generator was still active, 6 Morat troopers lie dead or wounded with the loss of one Chasseur.

Engineering details would be sent out by O-12 to repair any cosmetic damage done to the compound and reinforce it's perimeter with security detachments and long-range magnometric scanners. The Ariadnian response team would be picked up by Dropship and ferried onto the next skirmish...

Overall it was a good game between the two players, but the Morat player got some horrendous dice rolls which caused him to get absolutely butchered early game.

Thank you for reading! Any feedback or general comments would be greatly appreciated!

Yeah, reading that was a ton of fun. I'd love to do this with battle reports when I start doing them on a more regular basis.
