Alright, so I haven't seen anything else in this subforum about DZC, so I'm bringing it up.

Holy crap.

For those of you who haven't heard of DZC, it's a mass-battle, 10mm, resin model, sci-fi game. Now, what distinguishes the game is it's 'gimmick' or 'innovative mechanic':

Everything comes on board via dropships.

That's right. According to the game's creator, you'll have games (depending on the scenario) where your entire force starts off-board, and comes in from the skies. It's an alternative-activation, battlegroup-orientated game as well. It's even starting with 4 factions that look wildly different: The United Colonies of Mankind, the Post-Human Republic (both of which I'll be getting), The Shaltari Tribes, and the Scourge.

And not only that, but these mini's look stunning. For 10mm, these are incredible miniatures. Not only that, everything's to scale - you'll be able to fit your tanks and mechs on your dropships, and physically remove them to put them on the table. Here's some pictures:

Now, with just an off-the-wall, completely unfounded guess, I'm going to hypthesize that the rules are something akin to CWC, BKCII, and FWC. Which, if true, only furthers my interest.

If I had the money and a more understanding wife I'd be all over this like a cheap suit

The models look stunning. If the rules are any good I would seriously considering flogging a 40k army (and possibly a kidney ) to get some of these.

While you sleep, they'll be waiting...

Have you thought about the Axis of Evil pension scheme?

I am anxiously awaiting pricing as well; best of all, based on an interview, all of the initial release of all figs for all four factions is already done, and they're only holding off until playtesting is done and the manuals are completed. Buildings and such are said to be coming later, but 10mm is close enough to railroad 'N' scale that terrain won't be a problem, and a lot of 'Mechwarrior' cardstock buildings will work as well.

I fear that my wallet may crawl over to the corner and shoot itself.

Very interesting. I've got a sizable 10mm army of rebased mechwarrior clix minis. I'll be watching this game with some interest.

10mm doesn't have a very good track record with non-collectible miniatures games, but I hope this game does well.

I chatted with the guy who designed the game at Salute and asked him about pricing. His reply was that the models would be slightly more expensive than average as you'd be paying a premium price for a premium product.
When I asked what he considered to be an average price, he was a little vague but when I mentioned GW pricing as a comparison he said that he considered GW pricing to be nowhere near average and that these minis will be priced at a lower pont.

Well thats fair enough if the quality is good enough I'm more than happy to pay for it and if the price is still lower than GW well that's even better (and says a lot about GW).

I'm looking forward to the launch I intend to at least grab the rule book as a minimum.

Agreed about the models being totally stunning (particularly those Shaltari ships!) and wanting to pick up the rulebook to see what it plays like. I wouldn't want to just have these sitting around, but if local players would get into it... I don't think I've seen that kind of quality at this scale, it's incredible looking.

I saw this at Salute, had a quick glimps at the minis and they are awsome. only a quick glimps as the table was surrounded and i couldn't get near it. Deffo going to get the rule book as a minimum and maybe some post human stuff.

I am now hooked on the appearance of these models after seeing all the continued sneak peaks in the N&R thread.

Planning to sell my fantasy army and put some scholarship reading funds into purchasing some Shaltari. They are too beautiful to pass up!

A few folks in my gaming group have expressed interest in this, although most want to see the rules first. I hope they're good and will definitely be trying to hook people on this, so I have folks to play against

After being burned with Dystopian Wars, I won't buy any game without a thorough look through and tryout of the rules.

I'd urge others to do the same. It's very difficult to write a good rules set, and even more difficult to change it once it's done.

I agree; I may preorder random figs to check quality, but I won't pick up a Super-Uber-Mega-Set until we get some feedback from someone about the ruleset.

I'm very interested in this game.
Some of the ship designs give off an H.R. Giger feel to me which I love.
I'll definitely give it a try.

E-Figures has the rule book priced at 23.00 usd and dropships ranging from 30.00 to 12.00 depending on size. Whole army sets are about 100.00 if you want a case 137.00. Not a big fan of small models but will definitely be looking at this for future gaming options.

Yes to this!
I'll probably buy a few ships that I really like and see how I feel with the size and quality IRL.
Maybe grab the rulebook at a discount if possible before fully committing.

Myself and 4 other guys at the FLGS are getting into this- I'll probably get the large or mega Shaltari. I think the rules will be good, but he's stated he'll release free online fixes/etc if anything is out of balance or the like.

Really looking forward to this game!

Game is looking really cool, it's giving me a nice Command and Conquer vibe. Loving the Post Human Republic stuff.

Looking forward to seeing the rules.

I have a sizable PHR detatchment on preorder along with a rulebook. I might buy a 2nd faction on normal order (i.e. after I get my next salary) so that I can play with some friends until they also realise that resistance is futile! (And buys their own detatchments! )

The PHR looks are so totally and undoubtfully WIN in my eyes... I was sold at first sight TBH!
