I'm looking at the *evil* wh40k books, and dark disciple went * read me...... reeeeeeaaaaadddd meeeeeeeee* then maggots crawled out of the picture on amazon......I blame nurgle. But idk if I want to buy the book. Is it any good?

the "Dark" trilogy as a whole is a good read IMO, it does a good job of making you like the characters because they are fleshed out well and each is unique but simultaneously hate them foe being vicious and backstabbing bastards.

Personally my favourite of the bunch is Kol Badar. with him it's all about killing and the way he is described in the books makes it seem that even Calgar would have his head handed back to him by this Word Bearer.

I mean he took a group of terminators and fought his way UP a titan, blew one of it's legs off at the knee and then fought his way down to re-join the battle.

Now that's brutal.

Agreed - the first book actually made me feel quite dirty reading it, the descriptions and situations were just so chillingly evil....

I really enjoyed the dark trilogy and I think it captured the evilness of the word bearers but you still routed for them.
