Hi, I've played marines a long time so I can offer a few pointers
HQ - At the minute your HQ lacks a specific job in your army. Consider a librarian instead, then you get the psychic hood for some psychic defence and the force weapon which can be handy. Put him with the terminators as an IC/ MC killer
Troops - Tacticals are good but consider dropping points elsewhere and putting meltaguns and/or powerfists into the squads, makes a massive difference. Also take the dozer blades off the rhinos, chances of rolling a 1 are too low to justify the spending in my book.
Elites - Terminators are usually too points heavy at 1000 points but if you insist then remember that tactical terminators are wildly inferior to CC terminators. Swap them for 3 TH/ SS termies and 2 lightning claw termies for a much more devastating unit at the same price.
The dreadnought is fine My preferred dread loadout, if you had more points I'd consider a drop pod but not at this points level
Fast Attack - I've never used scout bikers so I can't really comment on these...if you pull anything to make room for the aforementioned powerfist/meltaguns I would make it this unit
Heavy Support - Can't argue with that, but maybe swap it out for a vindicator although this could leave you lacking long range shots
Just my two cents on the list overall pretty good for 1000 points

Thanks for the detailed reply, really appreciate it!
The reason I have the current load outs on the tactical marines etc and including the Termies is that I'm basing it around the Assault on Black Reach box set to make it as cost effective as possible!
I do agree with you though about the HQ so will definitely consider a Librarian
You think it would be worth it then to forget about the scout bikers completely and just upgrade the weapons on some of the tactical squads? If I drop the scouts and both dozer blades that gives me 100 points to work with (minus however much extra the Librarian is!).

hi,first of all you have a footsloggin' army and therefore lack transportation. think about this, reaching your mission goals will be very hard. also i would advice you to skip the termis. the scout bikers are your only mobile element BUT you dont play a scout army list so skip them too. you need pf and meltas for heavy hitting and anti tank. you need armoured transport to deliver your troops. you need heavy support i.e. tanks to suppress your opponent.
think about it or look at the army lists in dakkadakka.

Looking much better
As for the 45 points either ask if your friend doesn't mind you going 5 points over or try and shave 5 points somewhere (but I can see anywhere were you can do this) and upgrade the librarian to an epistolary
That way you can still cast a psychic power and activate his force weapon if you need to!
As you're playing for fun I can't see 5 points being a problem
Also what armies are you playing against?

You need to fix the cost of the dread.
He can not have a MM and a TL Heavy Flamer
You can keep the MM and change the built-in storm bolter with a heavy flamer for +10 points.

I would just like to point out you got the costs a bit wrong.
Also, for epic anti-tank firepower, use a tri-las predator. They are a beast when you get first turn. Pop all the transports you see . I also suggest get powerfists! you'll have to drop 50 points somewhere though... but they are preety much worth it in CC.

1850 points (buying new stuff)
Canceled, waiting for new dex
A battleforce, some guardians, a DA box, 2 banshee boxes,1 warp spider box,2 swooping hawk boxes, Found new love for the guys, debating on whether i should start or not |

Yea I realised I got the points wrong in the first list, but fixed it (apart from the dread, doh!) in the second list I think.
Thanks for all the help here guys, I like the look of this list Will still do a lot of tinkering about with it!
Edit: I'm not sure what armies I will be playing against, I'll be playing at a local gaming club. Would it be worth it to drop a meltagun for a flamer and then upgrade the Librarian to an Epistolary? I don't want to go over 1000 so that people don't have excuses when I beat them

Since when can Predators split fire?
RB pg. 16 "Check Line of Sight & Pick a Target"
"A firing unit can choose a single enemy unit that is not locked in combat as it's target, and may not split it's fire among different targets."
RB pg. 58 "Vehicles Shooting"
"... - all it's weapons must fire at a single target unit."
If you're popping all the transports you see with 1 Tri-Lascannon Predator, you've been doing it wrong.
@ OP: In your second list, if you have 45pts left over think about changing the predator to the TL Autocannon with Lascannon side sponsons version to give it a little more teeth. The autocannon is still nasty and can rip apart transports (AV10) and infantry alike, adding the Lascannons on the sides for when you need the extra assurance. Not to mention it makes sure you have to get 3 weapon destroyed results before your Predator becomes completely worthless. Just something to consider since you have the extra points in the second list.
