I have about ~20/10 points left to spend on random stuff, what do you think?

SO what do yoo guys think? I'm taking ths to a local Fantasy tournament and I'm hoping you helpful people on DakkaDakka could give me some list advice, or for the Empire player some tactical advice.I'm leaning towrds Metal on my mage because I love it and for the helpful Hexes and Augments, but do you think Beasts would be better for more combat magic and buffing my multiple characters? Looking forward to any critcism, praise or even just a recognition that I exist!

The list looks fine as is, I've never tried or played against the Hurricanum but the rules look fun and interesting. But I wouldn't bunker your mage in the 9 Halberds. Because all it would take (from a dwarf perspective) is to grudge thrower the free company, most likely kill everyone under the small template. Which will reduce the unit size to 3-4, which means no "Look Out Sir" and then my cannon can easily snipe him.

No problem. Had another look, and yea, the list looks fine (but do consider beefing up the unit for a better bunker or just stick the mage somewhere else), and if you have time, post some batreps with you using the Hurricanum!

Looking good for the most part. I have played about 10 games with the new book and lost twice so far so dont be scared to go bold!

The Hurricanum is a game changer. I played VC last night and failed all but 3 of my fear tests. The hurricanum meant that I was still hitting on 4s. Against lesser opponents you are hitting on 2s and 3s which combined with hatred is a killer.

I take lore of light as its the best for empire but shadow and metal can work well too. I wouldnt take the swordsmen either as they are possibly the worst state troops for empire now, what with being 7 points basic. I would swap with spearmen or another unit of halberdiers.

There is one major thing missing from your list though and that is a BSB. Its an absolute must for empire. You dont want that big block of halberds being scared off after a few casualties(which they WILL take).

Other than that, its looking good, helblaster is just awesome now(mine currently has a kill tally of 3 vargheists, 12 bloodletters, 3 fiends and a bloodthirster after 2 games

Let me know how the demigryphs work out, thinking of adding some to my list at some point.

Damn, I knew I forgot to add something! I forgot to say that the Captain on the horse with the halberdiers has a BSB, my bad. I'll put that in now.

Plus, are swordsmen really that much of a waste of points? They seem like a good defensive block to have...

But demigryphs are like awesomesauce, rainbows and lollipops all rolled into one while being pooped out of a flying poptart. They are just that freaking good.

Ive used swordsmen for the first couple of games I played and I hated playing defensively. I find having the offence to dish out damage is more valuable in the long run.

I run a completely stubborn army as my defese rather than ranks
