Seriously, that Bloody Bradigan Pitt is an awesome figure.

I did put too much work into that coat. There's at least three shades of brown in there as well as the base coat of german grey.

Besides that, I forgot to post these guys-

Nagual, a MesoAmerican Wizard also from Paymaster's Going Native line. Reminds me of Mola Ram for some reason.

The first Shikami model from Infinity's Yu Jing faction. Can't go wrong with a wandering cybernetic samurai... although I think it might be the Miyamoto Musashi from Infinity in disguise.

I may not do it anywhere near Angel Giraldez levels of detail, but it's painted and highlighted and colored in all the right spots. It's also finished, which is more than I can say for most of the Infinity models I own. I really ought to finish up the Taskmaster figure and other YuJing stuff I have sitting around...

I gotta go back and fix up that wizard dude's magic. Nobody could tell it was supposed to be flames of some sort.

So I keep making orders to Grimskull/ Wargames Exclusive...

This is their Imperial Wolfen Lord. At first I thought he was just a generic Space Wolf hero type, but no, he actually is supposed to be Wolfen. He's got shaggy sideburns, claws, fangs, and cybernetic doggy legs to go along with all his skulls! He's big, which meant he's easier to paint, but not too big, where he ends up Primarch size or something.

As you can see, his base adds a bit of height, but nothing too ridiculous like some of the Hitech or Scibor resin ones.

He'll fit in well with my Wolf squad I got for Kill Team, assuming I build and paint them any time soon.

So... with that... how about something really random?

This is a Skorn Warlord from the Warhammer Quest- inspired boardgame Darklight: Memento Mori. He's actually a boss character, and is represented by a token in the game. There was a boss mini pack available during the KS, which is where he comes from. I should've put someone next to him to give a size reference. He's a bit larger than a typical human.

Barzam said he looks too much like Kratos, but that's how the KS art for his was!

Do I have more random stuff than him though? Sure!

My fighting hippo avatar! He's a Bones figure, with a mouseling for size! He's still a bit of a rough wip, but he's getting there!

Next up, samurai and dragonborn!

So I've been on a bit of a Japanese kick lately. Doesn't help I keep spying the latest Taiga drama whenver my wife's got the TV on.

I picked up some Test of Honour figures at a reasonable price these last few weeks, and started working on my first set- Chobei's Renegades.

The titular character Chobei is based on a historical figure, Banzuiin Chobei, who was supposed to be a Robin Hood type street tough in Edo that eventually got cut down living the thug life.

While I haven't finished Chobei himself, I did finish up his street rabble.

Seeing as how they aren't supposed to be actual retained soldiers or anything, I didn't bother putting swords or sashimono on them, seeing as how I doubt they'd own any of that fancy stuff.

The long range guys as well.

Forgive their lack of painted sandals and sloppy faces- both were touched up since the photo was taken.

I still can't believe that these are the only plastic feudal Japanese figures on the market. I really think somebody could make a killing with a more modern tooled samurai kit. I'd forgotten what a pain these guys were to build since they were first released under Wargames Factory. The hands that are too tight to hold the spears, the thin and flimsy swords, the tiny bits... they were a great set of kits for the time, but it's time for something new! Plus they're kinda dinky...

To go along with them, and coincidentally matching their colors, are the last two members of my Ito Clan for the Bushido game.

I think the snake guy is supposed to be drumming on a taiko, judging by his arm position and the fact that he has weird club things in his hand. Would've been nice if they included a drum with him then!

The girl will make a decent geisha type for Test of Honour or any other Japanese themed game we end up playing.

I also dug this guy out this week and got back to work on him since he was first released.

When he's done, I think I'll have painted every Age of Sigmar Khorne personality. Now to do something with them besides GORECHOSEN!

In other news, I got around to building this guy-

He's the King of Ruin from Creature Caster, and he's a whole lot of resin. He is HEAVY. I really feel like Creature Caster has come a long way since their disaster of a kickstarter. I'm going to try painting him similar to the photos they have on their website, but I need to finish my GW GUO first. Any thoughts on where I should take his skin? The Rotigus on GW's site has a very pallid skin tone. Some sort of a wash, but not sure what...

Speaking of Creature Caster, I need advice on how to proceed with this mess of a figure-

This is their Lord of Malice, and he's got all sorts of different paint patterns going on with him. Should I just continue with the red skin/ dark red- brown armored parts?

Also trying to figure out how to proceed with some Gates of Antares Boromites.

They're just started really, but should I go with the more pale yellow or mustard yellow for their armor?

Lemme know what you guys think!

Haven't had much painting time due to having to work with kids and get prepped for parent conferences and the end of the grading period.

I did manage to squeeze in a few bits and pieces over the last few weeks.

This is Toshiro, from GCT Studios' Bushido line. From my understanding he's a limited edition model that's only available during event weekends or at conventions.

He's so laden down with weapons he seems the perfect player character for a mid- campaign Shadows of Brimstone hero. He's quite a busy looking model though!

Toshiro is joined by Chobei from Warlord's Test of Honour. He's a metal figure as opposed to the regurgitated Wargames Factory samurai.

One thing I'll say, the metals have a lot of character to them. I think I ended up picking up most of the metal character models. Now to get some more ashigaru and samurai painted up to hang out with them.

The terrain behind them has been another item I've been working on slowly. It's all Plast Craft's Fukei line for the Kensei game. It's an interesting mix of material- plasticard, foam, and MDF wood. I particularly like the houses with their support frames around them. Still irritated they don't really allow the figures to use the interiors of the buildings.

Those chainrasps should be the last batch I had left from the Soul Wars box. Now to move on to the bigger and more exciting Nighthaunt models!

I also finished up a fairly large Poxwalker pile. I don't think any of them match paint- wise. I tried to make them all a bit different. Sadly there's still more after these guys. I might try clipping and smoothing some of the horns on the next batch just to make them even more visually distinct.

I was currently working on Astorath the Grim, along with the WGE Mephiston proxy, but I broke Astorath's axe and can't find a replacement I'm happy with. Mephiston stalled out as I can't find a red I'm happy with. I guess it's time to hit the shops to find some decent alternatives!

If I'm going to be painting big wide brimmed straw hat guys, I'm going to have to take of my Kensei assassin who's sitting here waiting to get primed, along with three or four dozen other figures.
Plus, before we'd do a Death & Destiny figure, we gotta take care of the Three Thunders from Big Trouble in Little China (but those guys are pretty much already in the new Shadows of Brimstone game, so hopefully that'll be soon).

At least I've cleared some space for those soon to be primed figures.

This guy has been eating up a bunch of real estate on my table, along with livestock.

This is Golgog Goat- Eater from Mierce's Darklands line. He was an ogre mercenary, or Oghur to be more appropriate, and he's quite big as that WizKids Dragonborn is a bit larger than an average human and is on a 32mm base. He's a big dude.

I was really taken by his original artwork, as he looked a lot more vicious and feral. The final sculpt is nice, but doesn't have the energy I felt the artwork had. I love how laden down he is, despite it not coming through in the photo. He's got 3 goats hanging off him, some birds, pouches, a huge blade, assorted hooks and chains... it's *almost* at Rackham levels of provisions hanging off of him. Almost.

As far as I can tell, this is the first painted photo I've seen of him. Believe me, I looked. More surprising is that I didn't end up painting him with red skin like most of my ogres. I think that yellowish brown ocher works well for his base skin tone.

Accompanying Golgog is his Albainn buddy:

All of my Ogres/ Oghur are getting painted up in Fomorian colors for Darklands, despite what kindred they belong to. I wish his big wyrd stone or whatever he's carrying had more runes carved into it. Didn't help that they were hard to discern from the patterns in the rock's texture.

He's also a pretty big dude. His head reaches the roof of that lord's house next to him.

Another figure I've started off and on since his release is the Visarch, Sword of Ynnead. I think I've got him to a point where I'm pretty happy with him. Now it's a matter of studying up on white dwarf articles on how to paint gemstones to finish up all his soul stones and sword. I guess I'll try freehanding the symbol that's supposed to go on his loincloth.

He's currently being mobbed by a group of Shadows of Brimstone Werewolves.

I've pulled out a bunch of my SoB figures in an attempt to get more finished prior to Forbidden Fortress arriving. Wolves are done enough, along with some of those two headed rat thingees I forgot the names of. Painting the wolves up first is not the wisest choice, as they hit HARD. They are not enemies to be trifled with at low levels of the game.

Next up are the vampires, as they're pretty easy to paint up. Currently working on the Chainrasp team for the new Shadespire box set while I work on the vampires, as they share a lot of base colors.

I thought the plastic wolves were decent. You can pick out things like teeth and claws, and the fur is pretty thick in spots so it's not too hard to highlight.

They're currently available on the Frog's website for their Halloween sale, along with a bunch of other interesting stuff. Plus the usual buy 2 get 1 free card expansions.

I splurged and grabbed the magma giant since it was available as a preview. No idea how I'll paint it. Gotta do my lavamen as it is, and my Brimstone painting cue is starting to get rather long... at least my vampires should be done shortly.

Time to finish (or get finished) a bunch of items that are cluttering my workspace!

Alten Van Helsing, a reimagining of Alten Ashley from the Mercenaries subfaction for Warmachine. He's from Privateer's Minicrate line. Thankfully I found him at a reasonable price- he's been one of the more expensive guys to acquire after market.

Love his ridiculous ballista crossbow. I had some SoBrimstone Vamps for him to hunt, but I forgot to photograph them.

My completed Boromite Work Gang. These guys are equipped with heavy tractor mauls, whatever those are. Love the boss with his cigar.

Some WizKids Dragonborn I finished up recently.

The Genestealer Cult Abominant from the Tooth & Claw box. I didn't get the box, just the cult members. Should have him done and based soon enough. I had a hard time getting him to fit together. His legs were quite uncooperative. I made a bit of a mess with the glue, but thankfully it's all covered up and nobody will know... until I post this at least!

Still need to add quite a bit of details to him, and finish up his little buddy there.

Further work on my Lord of Malice from Creature Caster. I'm not 100% sold on the tips of the wings. The CC website shows the wings just being all the same color. Not sure if I'll follow suit and do the same...

Got that Lord of Malice finished up!

That's Gw's plastic Skarbrand next to him for reference. Almost as tall, about half as wide, and half the price as well!

Another cool thing is his base actually is on either a 50 or 60mm round. I love how Creature Caster's figures are deigned to fit on a small footprint but expand vertically for presence. That way he can get mobbed (or defended) by lots of chaff!

And with that, yet another chunky figure finished!

The finecast Scyla Anfingrimm! Always liked the redone concept of him. Wouldn't mind Creature Caster or someone taking a shot at a similarly feral looking Chaos Beast...

Traditionally those spikes on his tail aren't supposed to be painted that way, but I didn't care. It was just too red and needed something to break up the monotony of it, despite being made with a multitude of red paints.

Nightvault's Nighthaunt Shadespire guys.

More of the Nighthaunt Shadespire team

The gang all back together, waiting for me to finish the new Stormcast team so we can try a magic heavy game!

Speaking of Nighthaunts, it was high time for me to get the rest of the Soul Wars box finished.

Two of the hero models who's names I can't remember.

The Lord Executioner. With him done it's just the guys with scythes and the knight on the horse, and all the Nighthaunts are complete.

Also been working on a few Wild West Exodus figures.

I want to say this giant werebear is Geronimo. I need to finish up his jewelry but his fur is done at least.

My giant steampunk augmented evil werebear with a gatling gun. How many games can attest to having a figure like that? Not many!

I don't have his WWX rules, but I have a feeling he'll see play in some post apocalyptic games. Maybe a standin super mutant in fallout?

Some of my upcoming projects to work on- I didn't realize just how large that Magma giant from Shadows of Brimstone was going to end up being!

Speaking of Nightvault...

I've slowly been trying to get the Stormcast side done. Finally did it. Got real sidetracked with eBay stuff these past few weeks and didn't really paint much for myself

I think they're good enough. Painted and highlighted to a semi decent standard. Hopefully. Daughter has managed to break the female member's staff twice already whenever she sits at my computer. Hopefully it'll stay in place now...

Also got another Darklands guy finished!

Here a Fir Bholg for the Irish Erainn faction, but that, he's been enlisted under Baalor's all seeing eye now. Have to paint the Eye on his armor, or possibly tattoo it on him, but he's gone over to the bad guys team now.

He actually fits in pretty well with my other ogres. Not nearly as armored as some of the other ones put out by Mierce. That's alright though.

This is... yeah. Angry Eon. He's from Hitech Miniatures, and he's totally not Angron. Nope. He's angry. I got him cheap a couple years ago, and have broken him repeatedly and come very close to tossing him in the trash on multiple occasions. He's a lot worse for the wear and is missing multiple parts. So I went and painted him now. Why? I really don't know. I have much cooler models in need of paint. I still need to touch up some spots on him. Eh. He'll be consignment fodder worst case, and will help pay for Blackstone fortress or whatever it'll be called when it comes out.

Here's one I wasted no time getting painted.

Wayland the Smith, who was a special anniversary figure from Wayland Games/ Warcradle in honor of their store's owner I believe. Anyway, he's a big huge steam worker. That's one of the Younger gang primed next to him and he's not exactly a short figure....

Hopefully I can take a break form eBay for a bit (made enough to mad back the Antimatter campaign and cover end of the year vacation costs) so I should hopefully get back into the groove of things!

Despite the crickets I shall continue to plug away.

How about something you don't see every day around these here parts?

My man Guts! It's totally Guts from the manga Berserk. I forget what the figure is labeled as. It's from Klukva miniatures in Russia. He's a good sized figure despite being squished onto a 25mm base.

It was a debacle to ever receive him though. He got lost in the mail and the post office decided to send it to another city and then send it back to Russia, despite me having family contact the post office constantly about getting it (as I was in Japan at the time he was due to arrive). I did get him, and a few months later he's painted! I do need to fix up the skin tones on the arm. Not happy with them. His face is a bit ehh too, but I think part of that was due to the resin more than anything else.

A random undead wraith like assassin dude from the Celtos line. I fear I made his bony parts a bit to yellow. Maybe I should go back at them with a bit of an off white?

This here figure is from Rum & Bones 2nd tide. He's basically Dante from the cover of Devil May Cry 3 for all intent and purpose. I loved the Devil May Cry series. I sucked at them though. My wife actually finished the first three games while we were in college, despite her distaste of video games.

And Dante is not complete without his stylish twin brother Virgil, despite both of them being proxy homage characters! They may not be the most complicated paint jobs, but these guys were pretty decent once I got past the garish board game colored plastic that's hidden under layers of paint.

I'm sure these two will show up in one of our games soon enough. I keep trying to talk Barzam into trying out Sellswords & Spellslingers, an AI co-op system from Ganesha games. More than likely I can see them getting some use there.

I have a few more Rum & Bones guys coming up the painting cue soon enough... along with the last few bits of Soul Wars. Now if I ever decide to paint Nagash or not...

More Rum and Bones. Decided to at least attempt to finish up the box that Dante and Vergil came in.

Viktor here is also a Rum and Bones mercenary figure, which means just about any team can use him if I remember correctly. He also totally looks like the hunter from Bloodborne. This isn't that surprising considering how many characters in Second Tide seemed to come from video games. I wish they'd do this more often rather than basing things off famous people as they usually do in Zombicide.

Another Rum and Bones fig. This is Belle Rose, who totally isn't based on Belle from Beauty and the Beast. I cleaned her up a bit since I took this photo. My daughter liked this figure, but she's always been a fan of beauty and the beast.

The beast is also started, but I need to clear out some of the Nighthaunt units clogging up my table currently.

A Mutant Blacksmith ally from Shadows of Brimstone. I want to say he's either a token or a special character card you can get for an ally minion in the henchmen expansion. This was one of the resin figures on the web shop. He was a lot better casting than the original resins, that's for sure!

A Fomorian Reiver guy whose name escapes me from Darklands. I don't know what his deal is. He looks nothing like the other reivers. He's got that weird batman mask, rags for clothing, and a stone/ bone club whereas everyone else has much more "modern" gear for their faction. He looks like a caveman. He's also quite short, and it doesn't help that he's lurching over. I still like him. He may get used in Paleo Diet though.

Next up- I finish my Nighthaunt army from Soul Wars!

Viktor is more Bloodborne than Hugh Jackman.

Time for another random assortment of stuff!

First up, the Imperial Death Lord from Wargame Exclusive/ Grimskull Miniatures!

He's totally not Mephiston. Asbsolutely not. Quite enjoyed him, if it ended up a bit simplistic paint job. His scrolls turned out nice. I guess they could have been banners, but eh.

You can see the back detail on them as well as he hangs out with Astorath here. This particular guy has had a tough time, being lost, broken, paint spilled on, weapon lost and broken... yet he persevered to the point that I'm calling him done. I don't know where the mace came from that he's now carrying. The axe is lost somewhere under my desk. Never found it.

He turned out alright in the end. Whether he ends up with my chaplain all stars kill team or with some Blood Angels proper remains to be seen...

Also got this guy finished up finally.

I'm assuming he's some sort of Chaos Lord. He's from MOM miniaturas in Spain. The sculpt is a bit rough, but it really conveys the sense of presence I thought chaos warriors should have. He looks like something out of an early Adrian Smith design. He's also frightfully large.

Here's a cobbled together Tzeentchian cultist hanging out with the same chaos lord, just a tiny bit in front of him. I believe he was made from a flagellant body and obviously arcanite parts. Not a bad idea for some cultists. I got a box of them for 10 bucks a while back at the hobby shop, so this guy was my test subject.

Speaking of Tzeentch, I've been making progress on my Nightvault Tzeentch warband.

That's three of the six done. The sorcerer is almost finished, the brimstone horror needs more orange, and the blue guy has his skin done and that's about it. Should have them done soon enough. Maybe this weekend? Although every time I want to play Shadespire we end up playing something else...

What I'd like to play is Street Masters. They have another campaign going on Kickstarter right now for a reprint/ expansion set, and I was quite pleased with both the game design and the figures. The new ones look even better.

I thought I'd get it on the table this weekend, which means I need a finished set of enemies. I've painted a few from different gangs, so I grabbed the rest of the triad inspired crew and got to work on them (especially since I already started a few of their low level guys along with the main baddie being done).

I rushed these, but they should get the job done. These are just lame street tough guys along with the HK cop heroine who somehow fights in a super short miniskirt and heels. Yeah...

Next up are their staff masters, who keep reminding me of Pitbull. I don't know how threatening that is...
Their poor staves would just not straighten out no matter how much I tried hot watering them too.

Finally we have the sumo dudes to fight. Half tempted to paint some face paint on them like good ol' Honda. Possibly...

Next up I have the last hero figure I'll slap some paint on, and then it's off to either the Cartel gang or the Russians. Tough choice!

...so where'd I leave off?

Being without a monitor for a while, having Dakka work blocked on all my devices (along with my email), and trying to work my way through my model backlog hasn't allowed me to post much up as often as I'd like.

I did finish the Tzeentch Shadespire team finally.

I figure they're good enough. They look presentable. I painted all that irritating Tzeentchian filigree. Now if we could just play Shadespire again! I swear it's taken a back seat over the past few months to actual wargames or Magic at my home.

I'm trying to take care of all my Shadows of Brimstone backlog before Forbidden Fortress shows up. It probably doesn't help that I'm still working through the 1.5 shipping stuff from my Minecart pledge.

Managed to take care of another resin guy. Jeez he's flat. I like him though. Not the greatest paint job, but not the greatest figure they've released either.

I'm not sure what he's called, but this guy is one of the more recent resin figures Flying Frog released. First off, the sculpt is a significant improvement. Thicker, more defined, on a slotta tab for stability... he's a much better figure. I guess I could use him as a special ally, as that's what he's for, but heck, he's basically a new Bandido sculpt. I might have got him from the GenCon sale. All the resin sales probably aren't helping me clear out the Brimstone backlog though, and I have a handful that are supposed to arrive in the next day or two...

One thing I've wanted to work on are my Wargames Exclusive Sisters. I've got quite a few.

Here's my first test shot.

Overall I think it works. I'm not sure about her front loincloth piece. Is it supposed to be part of her robes or a scroll of some sort? I painted it like a paper scroll, and will scribble some lines on it later, but I think it might actually be part of her robes...

While I was working on the basic Sister, here's the Sister Repentium Mistress, as Grimskull calls her. Doesn't she run with the chainsaw ladies? I'm going to need to start working on the squad of those girls I've got as well.
Her paintjob seems serviceable. I can tell what she's supposed to be.

Speaking of Grimskull minis, I got the Chaos Lord guy done!

I really enjoy their hero figures, even if I have no troops to go with them or no practical gaming use. He's a very busy sculpt, and it was quite difficult to figure out what's what on his armor. I think I did alright. The turquoise highlights look out of place in the photo but blended together better in person. He's a pretty reasonable size too- just a tad bit bigger than a 40k terminator suit, but not by much.

...and speaking of Chaos, more and more Death Guard are being completed.

I think these are the multipart kits. Possibly. I built a few boxes of them at the same time I built the Dark Imperium guys, and now I don't really know what's what. At least the melee guys are from the multipart box. That I know. Still quite a few to go, but it's progress!

I went through a period in college where all I watched were Kung Fu movies. A lot of cheap DVDs at the beginning of the DVD explosion out of HK meant I could catch up on a lot of years of HK film very quickly.

Game has been hard as hell on us too. I have yet to win a single round of it.

Not sure how I managed to get Dakka work blocked. I think due to it being "games" related, and the firewall now blocks anything game related. Also hotmail and gmail, which is quite annoying.

But not the Kingdom Death main website. Not that I need to be going to it during school, but I found that really odd...

What the hell is wrong with me? What am I doing?

OMG did I just paint Space Wolves? Why? What happened?

TWIST- I actually enjoyed it even...

I had the KT box taking up too much space in the closet, so it only seemed appropriate to actually paint them. The shipping containers? We'll see.

I was going to attempt to paint up a Dark Imperium set of Primaris for a gift for my cousin, so I gotta clear up as much space as possible and get in the practice of painting marines again.

Those guys are going to be Ultras though so they'll be pretty easy. Hopefully...

Also painted up this random Minotaur from Bones the other day. Deep down I know Bones 4 is probably not that far off now, I probably should get back to work on stuff from the first three campaigns then...

I particularly like his armor. I think it turned out nice too. I went back and touched up a lot of the turquoise after this photo as well. He's a bit more human sized so he'll make a good player choice the next skirmish game we get started up with.

Ha- it does look kinda like a Union Jack, doesn't it? It was supposed to be claw marks on a red background... now I can't unsee it.

I like that minotaur too. Was working on (read: getting pissed off at) some Thousand Sons Exalted Sorcerers at the same time, and the cow was just a heck of a lot easier to work on.

School wraps up for winter break, which means I can finally get some painting time in.

I've had some of these guys sitting in front of me for well over a month. No longer!

First up is this Khador Man-O-War Standard Bearer. He came with a fancy pants Kommander with a big hat and lots of filigree encrusted armor who I have not gotten to painting yet.
He matches up pretty well with my other Man-O-Wars that I don't know what I'm doing with. Most of my Khador warcasters and solos have been sold off.

Perhaps I should grab a Man-O-War Sorscha in case I ever feel the need to play Warmahordes... or just to paint.

Next up are a variety of Raging Heroes ladies, who I don't know what are actually called.

I believe she's a pilgrim of some sort. I liked this sculpt.

This lady looks a lot more armored than the other figures. She also broke ranks and wore blue instead of red like all the other zealots.

Here's my Matron or whatever they're called. I thought of painting her up like a Custodes at first (she's just as big as one and is on a 40mm base). In the end I went with an eclectic mix of metallics.
I'm happy with her war scroll. I need to do more work on the golden stuff and finish her base.

A random Hadross Pit Fighter from Wrath of Kings. Once more this line of models from CMON makes me scratch my head. Some boxes have 10 models with 2 or 3 repeated sculpts, or 2 of the same larger kits, but nope, this box is 10 unique models. Why? What makes them so much more special than all the other factions? I dont' get the logic.

I believe this guy is the unit leader. I may be wrong as I don't have access to the cards or the second book at the moment. The details on his armor were super soft, but his skin and scales were very well defined. Weird.

Here's the Beast from Rum & Bones, actually finishing off the box that came with Belle, the Sparda brothers, and the Bloodborne Hunter copycat. He's kinda hunched over but is actually quite large compared to the other guys, and his base is probably closer to a 40mm one in diameter. Belle's base was just as large, oddly enough. I think it's due to their role as crew members for Rum & Bones.

Then there's these guys. They have frustrated me for the last two weeks or so after I finally sucked it up to paint them. The irony is I sold all my Tzeentch stuff, so I'm not sure what to do with these guys. I still have an unpainted Ahriman, maybe they can all be Age of Sigmar sorcerers for now. It's not like they're carrying overtly scifi weaponry. I'm not counting the five- armed guy as having a regular bolt pistol as it looks like it's getting powered by magic....

I need to fix up the trim on their cloaks, and finish their bases as well, but I'm happy their pretty much done.

Funny thing is, now that they're just about done, I kind of want some more. There were quite a few optional bits in the kit, and with some other rubrics I may be able to come up with something interesting...

Probably going to do more work on all their staves as well.

You aren't the first person to ask that same question either!

I know he's supposed to be resting his sword on the ground, but I'm guessing to keep the mold simple, the blade and his foot are totally fused together.

My wife had suggested leaving a red ring around the edge of the blade where the foot touches...

So it's been a while.

BUT I PAINTED.

Did you?

I painted a lot of stuff over the last two weeks. A LOT. So much so I already packed some of it away in the closet and most likely won't remember it for weeks or months. It might be on my youtube videos. Not even sure.

I painted the entire Dark Imperium box. I gave my cousin the marines. I painted them as Ultramarines. Then I lost the flight stands for the Inceptors. Debating how to complete them.

My cousin forgot to take him home. He is proof of my work. I think I put the wrong size decal on his flag. I hate decals...

Despite getting tons and tons and TONS of GW stuff over the last few months, he's the only other GW model I painted. He may have come with Assassinorum: Exectuion Force. Possibly. Probably....

I started trying to cut down on my Mantic partially painted models. Here's some Nightmares finally done, that were started when Infestation was delivered.

And a more recent model, a Nightstalker Butcher, from the Vanguard campaign. I have a few more of his friends started. I will try to finish them.

Some Malifaux monster hunters. I like the guy on the left a lot. Too bad he's not in the box, and featured in the artwork! Nope, instead, I had this guy included with the lady-

Who the is he? I contacted Wyrd, they sent out the guy in the art. No idea who badly is. Don't like his elongated gorilla arms.

I'm really fond of this model from Legendarion. He's big too. At least on a 50mm base. Maybe a 60mm. Can't remember.

I hate his sword though. It's warped and paper thin. It won't bend back despite repeated attempts. I am going to dig through my SD Gundam parts and see if I can find a sword blade of comparable size to replace it with.

Besides all that, I painted quite a few Wrath of Kings models. I really did a lot looking at them all like this. I'll just put their photos up here.

-this picture was taken before I finished him. I can't find where I put him now either...

Flying pig hero

Big huge Goritsi Shieldbreaker on his 50mm base

Duke Anton before he moonlighted as an Abomination in Zombicide

Molotok the Iron Juggernaut, with his elongated nipple clamps...

One of two of the Sarvoth Shadow- Veils. Can't find the cooler looking one now...

Za'Ren for the Shael Han...

Lineman Boris and his half dozen swords...

Plus a plastic Kingdom Death Forge Priest just for good measure!

Phew! That's not even everything...

For 2019 my hope is to finally paint Archaon and some of the other BIG models I keep putting off!

Same wash as always. I don't think it's a gloss agrax...

There was definitely a bit of animal people taking painting priority these past few days.

The rate I'm going through these Wrath of Kings guys, we ought to sit down and try playing it again. Would probably help if I painted some infantry for one of the factions rather than all the hero models.

Once I'm done with the current batch it's time to head back to samurai and fallout for a bit...

So like I said last time, samurai and fallout were up on the plate.

I'm really lagging on photographing stuff. Trying to make videos for Youtube, which has been kind of interesting, is taking up way more time than I ever expected.

So here's some stuff that I painted lately. There's more, but in an attempt to keep the house relatively clean, I already put a bunch of it away.

Here's a Clan War samurai and two of the Koryu Buntai from North Star for the Ronin skirmish game. The dude with the Nodachi is obviously inspired by Mifune Toshiro in the Seven Samurai. Not sure about barefoot closed- eyes guy. Maybe the seven samurai as well? Been a while since I watched it. Part of me wanted to paint him up like someone from Rurouni Kenshin...

I should have the rest of the Buntai started soon.

Here's some of the Frontline Knights from the Brotherhood of Steel for Fallout: Wasteland Warfare. They come from the Brotherhood Starter and booster. Colors look really washed out due to my poor lighting. I'm not happy with the bases- they have what look like scan lines from a 3d printer all over them. They're serviceable at least. I'm trying to do the recruits and the two female knights as well.

Both of my T60 power armors are basically done. Outside of a metallic coat I'm not really sure what to do with them though. At least their bases are nicely done. We'll see them next time I update this.

Did you all ask for more Wrath of Kings? Because I can't seem to stop painting them now for some reason.

More Goritsi wolves. The female one's fur is very disappointing after I sprayed her with the matte sealer. I may need to redo it, but I can't remember what color I used originally!

Another Teknes hero. I don't get those vent things on his back. There's no openings for them!

More Teknes. These two pigs are on 40mm bases and are some sort of veteran unit that I can't be arsed to go look the names up to. They're in the second book, I know that. I like the caped guy.

Getting started on some of my Eden figures. These guys are Resistance. I believe they're Pilots is what the box said. They look like ex prisoners. I like the mace lady. They aren't Mohan level of paint jobs but they're serviceable.

Last up for the moment is a Deep Cuts figure from Wiz Kids. I know some of Dakka really seem to like these figures. They're alright. Sometimes it's hard to discern their details. He does have a helmet on under that animal skin. I'm not sure if he has a beard spilling over his arm or not, but that's how I painted it because that's what it looked like. It could just be a bunch of flash for all I know.

One thing I don't like are those tiny discs that Wiz Kids likes to call bases. They're way too small! I ended up gluing this guy to one of the Reaper bases that came with one of (all of?) their Kickstarters.

So that's what I've been up to. Next post should be more Fallout, samurai, wild animals, and ... Blackstone Fortress?

The youtube link is in my signature down there.

Also here for convenience's sake-

I agree the bear seems a bit small, but after comparing it to a Bones one, it's not that significant of difference. I think there's another one coming in Bones 4, so hopefully that'll be more impressive.

I saw your post about Warbanner and them taking over Test of Honour. That's good news. Game system is cool. I'll have to take a look at the models.

My spidey- sense keeps telling me someone is missing out on having a real good plastic samurai kit, as I feel like as a genre the Sengoku era stuff is going to be this year's Cthulhu/ Zombies/ new hotness.

I've been trying to build through my Warlord/ WGF samurai backlog and with every figure I build, I distinctly recall how much I'm not a fan of their hands and weapons.

A good heroic sized skirmish based plastic kit could sell gangbusters if someone wants to take a stab at it, in my humble opinion...

I'm curious how you're going to convert them too!

My photos keep coming out too bright. Ugh.

Started in on my Delaque box. Got a few done. I feel like they need a bit more work- just not sure what or where! At least they look like they're acceptable for a tabletop game. Hopefully I can finish off the box and we can consider actually playing a game of Necromunda.

Trying to get a few more Deep Cuts animals done for this weekend. Hopefully we can squeeze in a game of Paleo Diet. Also finally snatched up a Kenshiro figure for Eden, because he's only the most appropriate figure for a post apocalyptic game. I'm going to try and get him primed and started this weekend.

Currently trying to build my way through a rather big pile of Test of Honour stuff. Hope to be able to show those soon!

Yeah, those are the basic Necromunda bases. All the gangs so far have them.

Not sure how many designs there are, but I know those four all have unique ones.

I'll have to get on top of those size comparisons. Been busy with Youtube junk and working on grades.

I figure I'll post some things I haven't posted elsewhere yet.

This is the Lord of Sorrows from Creature Caster. At first I thought it would be a great Tyranid Hive Tyrant, but upon closer inspection it makes an even better Nurgle Daemon.

My red capes. Dude on the left is a Warwind from Dark Age. I wanted to get him done before I work on the newer resculpt. Dude on the right was part of Parker Barrows' crew for Malifaux.

Some more Dark Age figures. Need to find the big guy's son. Forget which one is Phadras and which is Maximo. I think Phadras is the dad. Guy in the background is most likely a Skarrd figure, but I'm not sure what. I think he's a Golab, which are there mute sword masters, but I thought the Golabs were larger.

Some Wrath of Kings figures in various stages of completion. Center guy who's most finished is a Paragon of Wrath, who are ogre dudes with all sorts of prosthetic limbs. Mine are red naturally, because all my ogres and oni are red.
Big guy is a Hate Forged Titan for the Teknes faction. I think I've seen maybe one other painted one on Facebook. Once I get his base done I'll post him up by himself. Panda in the back came from the Celestial Host which was a big boxed unit set for the Shael Han faction.

The alternate sculpt models of the Viktorias for Malifaux. I'm pretty pleased with myself- they were supposed to be completely different models, but Wyrd decided to stick two of the same sister in the blister with the hands for the other model. So I did a bit of converting and managed to get two sisters still out of their goof.

I really want to see new sculpts of the Viktorias when 3rd edition hits!

Lucky me, had the day off from work in observance of Lincoln's birthday.

Unlucky me, students gave me a nice and congested head cold as a parting gift prior to Valentine's Day. Thanks guys!

Surprisingly got a bunch finished up this week.

Finished up the bulk of this Resistance starter for Eden. Time to probably start up another so we can figure out how to play.

Two of the new Tharn models for Hordes. The left one has a twin brother who's all hulked out and getting painted currently.

An Oathsworn Kingfisher who was a lot of fun to paint, hanging out with a Shael Han Dragon Legionnaire from Wrath of Kings. The bird has all his adventuring gear on his back.

The resin Werewolf Pack Master or Shadows of Brimstone. He's with a resin alt samurai model for the same game. I should've included a plastic werewolf for scale reference. Next time...

Eden's "Ken" the superman hanging with not- Raziel from Dark Age. Sadly it looks like his eyeliner is running. Watered the paint down a bit too much...

Fist Godsworn Hunt barbarian done for Warhammer Underworlds. Nice and simple, with NO CHAOS ICONOGRAPHY ANYWHERE!

A bunch of Shael Han guys from Wrath of Kings. Why do I keep painting them? I like Nasier the most!

Another Wrath of Kings figure, this time from the Hadross underwater faction. He's big, sitting on a 40mm base.

This guy's even bigger, another Wrath of Kings figure. It's a Hate Forged Titan from the Teknes faction. He's on an 80mm base. I think this is the first one I've seen painted on google, outside of the box artwork. I saw one once on Facebook in a Kings of War army.

A random Rising Sun figure that got painted up. Really happy with him in person. No idea what prompted me to paint him right now. Shadows of Brimstone Forbidden Fortress perhaps...

Two more Northstar samurai for their Ronin game. Who's that mysterious stranger watching in the background...?

Spoiler:

Hint. He just came out this week. I painted him in a single evening.

Time to get back to work now!

Thanks.

He was so cheap there really was no reason not to buy him!

I'm going to miss stocking up on Wrath of Kings every black friday sale that CMON does. Seems like the game is going to be left to rot since they started their Game of Thrones war game.

You hunt around, you can find the Wrath of Kings stuff pretty cheap these days.

I keep picking bits up for the game and I've paid nowhere close to what I should have, especially online. Patience is the key though.

I painted up even more WoK stuff but forgot to photograph it. Been busy getting grades ready for report cards, resulting in not a whole lot getting painted.

Started up a bunch of stuff as is usually the case, but work does need to come first... once in a while.

That's Vachel Goldenhand from Lucid Eye Publication's "Red Book of the Elf King" line. Very Conan- esque to me. Maybe it's the helmet. Gives off an Atlantean, early civilization vibe. He does in fact have a golden hand as well.

A weasel brigand from Oathsworn's Burrows & Badgers line. Pic came out kinda dark. I think I need to fix up that bottle hanging around his waist.

The daimyo for Rising Sun's Koi Clan. Her fan does in fact read "Koi." I don't know why. I doubt she'd forget.

I feel like I should go back and put some details on her robes. Or at least some of them. There's so many layers to her...

A Dragonfly Clan warrior and daimyo. I'm quite fond of the daimyo, but feel his top robe needs some extra pizzazz on it. I like how the whole clan wear masks.

Should have some larger figures finished up later this week or next. Almost done with some of my Minotaurs from Zealot's kickstarter!
