------------------------------------------

My original list had 3 obliterators and 6 deep striking Nurgle Terminators but neither performed well in all 3 practice games. Pulled 2 olits and changed the Nurgle Terms to Slaaneshi Terms with LR.

I purposely left the princes lean and mean as they tend to just soak up hits meant for the vehicles anyway. One prince is wingless because that is what the model is and I like to WYSIWYG as much as possible.

I think I feel better with this list that the original.

Anyone got some good suggestions to tweak this list before this Sunday?

My thoughts for competitive play (may not be compatible with the minis you have at your disposal)

- Chose between vindicators and obliterators. Either 2 vindi or maxed out oblis.
- Remove the dozer blades on your rhinos.
- Your terminator champ is NOT the one with the CF. Especially with MoS. Give the champ upgrade to a LC one.
- If the only thing you'll DS is the lesser demons, remove the personnal icons from everyone. (the obliterator does not need the precision)
- Personnal choice here : I always put a havoc launcher on the PM rhino, and a combi-melta on the berzerkers one. Go figure.
- Get a rhino for your standard CSM. Better, remove them and get something else, like PM. With a rhino.
- The DP looks odd. Wings are always good. Unless following the Bz rhinos. If that is not your strategy, get wings for both.

Thanks Seb, lots of good points to think about. I may be making some of those changes.

I did forget to list a rhino for the CSMs, fixed that.
And for dozers, can't live without them. Seems to always be a lot of terrain where I play.

Something that stuck out was your comment about not putting the CF with the terminator champ? Like most I was going to give the champ DLC. But then I thought about it and wondered if the two extra claw attacks is worth more than an extra CF attack to better shred vehicles and take out those hard to kill sergeants and ICs? I have honestly not play-tested this wargear mix yet so I'm going on gut instincts here?

Adding up the points for your original list, I came up with 2012, so I'm guessing the tournament is for 2k.

Seb brings up some good points, but remember that SLD are required to DS next to a unit with an Icon, so removing the personal icons from your troops would limit you to DS-ing onto the Terminator squad. However, keep in mind that they CAN assault after deepstriking, and they count as troops.

Daemon Princes are great, but they are made competitive via their wargear options. Just taking wings or even leaving one naked is insufficient. Since the old reliable Warptime Nurgle Princes have been nerfed, you might want to consider a Tzeentch Prince with Bolt of Change - that 4++ should serve almost as well as the T5.

Most people find chaos terminators to be too expensive for their use, and instead use "Termicide" squads - 3 terminators each with a combi-melta, deepstriking to wreck vehicles and generally cause mayhem.

I've found that with my recent games that Extra Armor and DP on my transports saves me lots of grief. I understand your desire for Dozer Blades, so keep them if you find that you have been getting immobilized more often then not. Don't forget about the repair ability!

I would probably field something like this:

HQ:
Daemon Prince (Wings, Mark of Tzeentch, Bolt of Change) 175
Chaos Sorceror (Mark of Slaanesh, Lash of Submission, Meltabombs) 130
ELITES:
Chaos Terminators [3] (3x Combi-Melta) 105
TROOPS:
Khorne Berzerkers [8] (Skull Champion, Power Fist, Personal Icon, Chaos Rhino, Extra Armor) 263
Khorne Berzerkers [8] (Skull Champion, Power Fist, Personal Icon, Chaos Rhino, Extra Armor) 263
Plague Marines [5] (2x Meltagun, Personal Icon, Chaos Rhino, Daemonic Possession) 195
Plague Marines [5] (2x Meltagun, Personal Icon, Chaos Rhino, Daemonic Possession) 195
Chaos Space Marines [8] (Aspiring Champion, Power Weapon, Plasma Gun, Icon of Slaanesh, Chaos Rhino, Daemonic Possession) 240
Summoned Lesser Daemons [5] 65
Summoned Lesser Daemons [5] 65
HEAVY SUPPORT:
Obliterator Cult [2] 150
Obliterator Cult [2] 150

1996

You've got quite a few problems in this list.

Firstly the Daemon Princes; neither of them are adding anything to this army. I would see what powers you like (probably lash is now the best) and go with that. If not, then Kharn is probably the best HQ option.

The Terminators do not need a Champion as you are not running any Greater Daemons. Plus the single Land Raider they have is going to be a massive and easily disposable target at this points level.

UNless you're on a very terrain heavy board you do not need dozer blades.

The Plague Marines only need to be 5 strong, you only need 5 to get dual special weapons . You do not need the Champion either, too expensive.

Your heavy support, as someone mentioned, should have dual Vindicators or dual Obliterators, not a mix of both. This is for target saturation and redundancy purposes .

I have updated my list in the first post to reflect my updated list.

OK, I have assimilated everybody's suggestions and they are quite good! But I couldn't do them all due to lack of points or personal preference.

I added doombolt and lash to my princes to give them better support roles.

I dropped the terminator champ to save points.

I dropped all my dozers to save points, hurt me to do it because I tend to get a rhino or two stuck every 2-3 games! Maybe I just drive them to aggressively!? LOL.

And dropped the combi-melta from the PM rhino as I figured they got it covered with 2 MG in the squad.

I would love to have fixed my lack of honest heavy support but alas, points are tight with this current CSM codex. Can't wait for the new one!!!
