Hi

Please can you let me now what you think of the below list for a tournament later this year. Its possible it may have to change as it will be after 6th edition but I wanted to see what you thoughts were anyway. The event is IA friendly and I decided I wanted to take advantage of the Storm Eagle Assault Gunship. Abaddon and the berzerkers will be riding in this.

For those who don't know the rules for the Eagle they can be found here http://www.forgeworld.co.uk/Downloads/Product/PDF/s/Stormeagle.pdf

Looks good, but I'd take another big thingy (lash prince?) to divert fire from your deathstar.

If you've got 'em, I'd advise using vindicators rather than oblits, and use any and all remaining points to beef up the small PM squads. This would probably require a little play-testing though -- as it is though, it feels very model-light. while vindicators won't remedy that, they might be somewhat more durable than the obliterators. if you want to make it more assault oriented from there, add another squad of berserkers, and put 'em in a rhino.
Either your stormeagle takes the shots, or your vindicators/oblits do.
The reason I would take the vindi's over oblits is that you have range with the stormeagle anyway, and launching more pie plates is always better. just deploy them properly, and they will have to ignore one or the other. I think if you were to go all-out assault, this would work best... but then it becomes something much more like my list. the key here is target saturation -- make your opponent not know what to shoot at.

Thanks for both the replys.

My normal list uses vindicators to plough forwards with the PM's and Berzerker rhinos. I'm finding them a bit lacking at the moment due to facing lots of heavy armour which is where the Obilterators seem to be more useful with their lascannons at range.

Also the Storm Eagle has the benefit of being able to deepstrike

I could take out Abaddon for a khorne lord to save points but Abaddon is so good vs both infantry and vehicles, I could use a khorne lord with chainfist as the berzerkers would be anti infantry.

What would be funny is to run two defilers instead of the oblits but I wouldn't be able to transport them and the storm eagle to the tournament.
