Got a couple badly painted rhino's from a friend that I want to strip, do I just let them soak in simple green like the rest of the mini's that I have done or is there something special I should do for a vehicle?

That will do it. But do yourself a favour and get some Superclean. Much better stuff it is.

Superclean? Can I pick that up from Walmart? Will it damage plastic?

Safe on plastic, just keep an eye on it. Try to get all the bubbles out when it's submerged. Bubbles means paint not stripped.

Also, how does one apply to be a member of the Ultramodrines? Are harsh trials involved, ones that would test my faith as a wargamer and resolve as a geek?

Just submerge the whole thing. If you have large sections that are easy enough to pop off, I'd suggest doing that, beforehand. Even a "sealed" Rhino won't likely be completely watertight, so it's going to fill up with your stripping agent while it soaks. It's a hell of a lot easier to drain it afterward if you've got the hatches off (all the better if the sides are off, as well/instead).
