Moving the tournament up 1 hour, with registration at 9am, rolling dice at 10am.

Then in the evening, we start up another tournament with 1500 pt armies, and using 6th edition rules!

Store is open late, more food comes out. And we may just roll through the night and into Chili Dogs on Sunday.

1850 Warhammer 40k Tournament





3 Games, with missions using elements from the standard missions in the books, and possibly a couple of twists.



All models must be painted to a 3 color minimum and be based.

This is an experiment, we'll see how things go. To use these rules, you must have the correct model. Either from FW, or a damn fine looking conversion. You must also own the rules, either the appropriate IA Book, or a PDF download from ForgeWorld.



(NO ILLEGAL PIRATE DOWNLOADS IN THE STORE!) You must bring the rules with you.





IA army lists allowed one a per person basis. Ask mike about it. Actually owning the correct models will help you get permission for this.)





Prizes based on attendance, with the 15.00 entry fee going toward prizes.





Lunch is included in the entry fee, and bottled water. I'm thinking pulled pork sandwhiches, but might be sirloin with french dip.





Muster is at 10:00AM



Registration closes at 10:30AM



Pairings posted at 10:45AM



Game 1 starts at 11:00AM

If 6th ed drops on the 23rd will it still be a 5th ed tourney?

It's got to be, that's not enough time for anyone to know how to play it

Also, I think it likely that the 23rd is the preorder date, so release date would either be the day of (30th) or another week after.

Mike, i'll come by this week or weekend to pay in person if that works. Still trying to mobilize the guys for the event, but I would definitely like to take part.

Hopefully can make it out again. Still haven't heard from Brad or Nick.

Mike did you have a metal 5th ed Dark Eldar Lelith? Want one for a conversion.

Mike, on your Facebook page you put something about a morning 5th edition tournament and at night a 6th edition one...

He mentioned it in the DCM section, too. Looks like the tourney described above is 5th (of course!) but he was thinking of doing a "we don't know the rules" tourney of 6th in the evening.

I wonder if it's even possible to read the rules by then (probably only if you don't play in the morning one!)

Yep. Been brainstorming a bit, and I threw up some stuff on facebook lastnight and rewriting the schedule etc today to post around again.

All we'll do is move the scheduled tournament 1 hour earlier, and then instead of me relaxing in the evening, I'll just start up the second one and keep rolling. Some of the guys want to play 6th that day and try it out, but it's going to be hard as hell to do that with no one, including me, knowing the new rules. I won't get books until friday afternoon. So I don't want to throw a spanner into the works of the monthly tournament. But if folks want to stay around for more gaming, in a very relaxed 'learn the rules' format, I don't mind making it a long day. We're actually talking about just rolling through the night with an all night painting session as well, and going out for breakfast at the diner.

Second tournament is 5 bucks, or free if you played in the first. It will be absolutely not be a competitive format. No one knows the rules yet, and hell, armies may work totally different. If the rumors about assault troops are real, I may break out 60 stormboyz as the ringer army and try them out.)

Then more gaming and chili dogs on Sunday. )

I've got a bunch coming in,...BUT....with how horrible GW's advance advertising is, who the hell knows how many any shop needs? I'm sort of guessing since we don't really have time to talk it up like we used to do, and get pre-orders from folks. I'm basically just ordering to fill the list I've making of people who ask for one held, and then grabbing some more on top of that number. I'll put you down for one Keith. Anyone else wants a copy held, just PM me or post in the thread.

Mike, yet another fantastic event. I got my book, I got some paints and other stuff, had a lot of fun in the tournament, and the food was fantastic. The chili was great, what did you do with it?

And....I think the most fun I had was talking to a player who asked my advice. I went into salesmen mode, asked him what he thought was wrong with his army ( mobility and long range firepower) and upsold him from a rhino to a land raider. I really thought that would help his army, and I got to be a salesman once more!!! I wish I had a game store or GW store near me that needed help...

Can't wait to come up again, wish I lived nearby.
