If I deploy my army in full reserve where can my opponent put his infiltrators who can come in 12" out of line of sight and 18" in Line of sight.

They can be placed anywhere as per rules, as long as they are not within 18" or 12" (and not in LOS).

So... wherever he wants to.

So this would probably not be the best deployment strategy against alot of gene stealers.

Look around and you will find a picture of a battle where kroot infiltrated onto the board edge of an enemy who had fully reserved (with no units able to outflank). Auto-lose. More recently, Smitty0305 (i think thats it) has a battle report thread where he almost pulled the same thing with fast moving eldar against an opponent. In other words no, its a bad idea against an army with a whole mess of infiltrators.

I wish I had time for all the game systems I own, let alone want to own...

Unless all your reserves are in vehicles or are able to move over enemy units (jetbikes, jumppacks, etc)

I was playing against eldar the other day with my speedy orks, and he played full reserve... scout moved 3 kopters torward far edge, i got turn 1, turbo boosted copters to very far corner and spread them 2" apart (like the smitty reference)... then laid my bikers out next to them, effectively halving the board and dictating him to deploy on the half close to my deffrollas. Now.... he didn't even try to move onto the board edge and continue moving as my models didn't allow his initial deployment....

Could he have just skimmed across all my dudes 3-4" to get outside of 1" of my models then landed there? (or continued moving forward?)...

Did he overlook that fact or am I correct that he wouldn't of been able to deploy them there initially thus couldn't move from those points?... it was never brought up in game, he saw what I did and just played like he wasn't allowed to pass over me from outside the table... class act of a guy... but did he and I make a mistake in playing this way?

Yes, you made a mistake. You don't deploy on the table, you move onto the table. He can move over your troops with skimmers.

If you have no models on the board he can infiltrate anywhere, so you should place one or two squads to protect deployment zone.
