It might be a one trick pony, but I think Flying MCs is a pretty good trick. Deploying the guys in a cluster on the landing pad will mean that the nearby LoCs will be able to take advantage of Fateweaver's aura turn 1 without deviation shenanigans. Besides that there is room for a ton of AP 2 and 3 shooting, AP 3 vector strikes, and challenging Sergeants and ICs to single combat.

Lords of Change might not be completely horrible anymore how nice.

This army would look amazing on the table.

Change and change until Change is our master, for nothing neither God nor mortal can hold that which has no form. Change is the constant that cannot be changed.

No game of chess can be won without pawns, and this may prove to be a very long game.

I ran something similar to this today and had good luck against Necrons with it. My list looked something like this:

Fateweaver
Bloodthirster (Mights, BotBG)

4 units of 5x Pink Horrors (one with Changeling, all with Bolt)

4x Daemon Prince of Tzeentch (Wings, Bolt, Gaze, Iron Hide)

I chose to have all the MCs enter play Swooping, destroyed units of Immortals with vector strikes, landed when appropriate and smashed his vehicles. It was a good time. I had originally planned on using a CSM prince and some 1k Sons, but with the CSM FAQ make the CSM Daemon prince a Jump MC instead of a Flying MC, I'll just go with the doubling of the FOC at 2k points.

I still might ally with CSM and just use a Chaos Sorcerer of Tzeentch, but for now I'm just going to use the models I have and put as many Flying Monstrous Creatures into the sky as I can.

How did you play Unholy Might & Vector Strike interacting?
Also, did you consider that Soul Devourer gives your Greater Daemons Power Weapons, which could theoretically be used to give them Power Mauls for +2 S and Concussive, while keeping AP 2 from smash?

Yes, I've been considering a similar list. The main difference would be adding a bloodthirster for higher strength vector strikes.

Lords of Change are all modelled with staves, so it'd have to be a Power Maul. Pretty nice.

Also I'd give all of the Lords of Change master of sorcery because vector strike counts as firing a weapon in the next shooting phase. It's only 10 points.

Breath of Change for overwatch, when you aren't swooping might be alright too but pricy.

Look Out, Sir requires that the models are in the same unit, so Fateweaver can't pass wounds to other Lords of Change.

Deploying the guys in a cluster on the landing pad will mean that the nearby LoCs will be able to Look Out, Sir for Fateweaver and keep him airborne. Besides that there is room for a ton of AP 2 and 3 shooting, AP 3 vector strikes, and challenging Sergeants and ICs to single combat.

Haha, interesting, looks really cool and could be nasty, vector strikes with Lord of Change is actually really good, same with all MCs. MOT MCs, are so expensive points wise its crazy thats my only issue. I want to run a similiar list, believe it our not I have all the models already, but I want to make a 1776 points list and find it difficult to have high point value MCs to seem effective.

Not bad, this is a true circus, haha.

Here's an update a long time coming: I played with this list last weekend against a Space Wolves/Sisters of Battle list and crushed house. The Daemon Princes were a poor substitute for the Lords of Change, but 6 FMCs was an unstoppable wall of carnage.

Predictably, the Pink Horrors were really fragile and almost got shot off the table, but a few turns of savage flying circus Greater Daemons completely dismantled my opponent. And S8 Vector Strikes are liable to punch other flying vehicles right out of the sky. 'Nids flying circus doesn't have the invulnerable saves to survive anti-tank aerial shooting and the grounding tests that follow, but with 3++ and 4++ rerollable saves, Daemons might be a serious power contender.

Only problem I see with this list is that you have 2 too many Lords of Change, You can have the following HQ combo choices. 2 Greater Daemons, 1 Greater Daemon 2 Heralds, or 4 Heralds.

Unless I am missing something.

honestly this is what I was thinking lol. I didn't think we could have more than 5 flying MC's at one time. 3 princes and 2 HQ's....

At 2000 points the FoC doubles so you can have four HQ's.

Exactly, this used the double FOC. At a lower total I'd have to drop to 2 hqs and up the daemon princes, but it's still the points more than the slots limiting me.

If I were redoing the list, I'd cut one of the HS Princes for more troops, and hand out a few upgrades, but the 4 Tzeentch greater daemons were amazing.

You do not get a S8 vector strike even if the power mauls are +2. You strike at yor unmodified strength 6.
