The new templates and blasts are bigger then the old ones. Does the gray outer rim count as part of marker or just the blue lightning part, and if just the blue part counts how do you use the template. In the book it shows them touching the gray part to the model. Thanks

I did't notice any pictures of the new templates being used in the book.

But holding the old blast markers and templates to them, it seems that you don't include the gray outer rim of any of them.

Compare it to the copyable templates at the back of the book, and you'll see that you only use the inside of the template.

^ This.

OP, I know what picture you're referring to as I noticed how the template was being used as well. It's a wrong representation of how to use it.

Inside of the template ring = coverage. New templates are fail on many levels.

Personally, I like them better, as it's easier to count the models inside than guessing who is under the edge of the corner, and who isn't.

Not their fault people need an instruction manual for a plain circle.

7 Ork facts people always get wrong:
Ragnar did not win against Thrakka, but suffered two crushing defeats within a few days of each other.
A lasgun is powerful enough to sever an ork's appendage or head in a single, well aimed shot.
Orks meks have a better understanding of electrics and mechanics than most Tech Priests.
Orks actually do not think that purple makes them harder to see. The joke was made canon by Alex Stewart's Caphias Cain books.
Gharkull Blackfang did not even come close to killing the emperor.
Orks can be corrupted by chaos, but few of them have any interest in what chaos offers.
Orks do not have the power of believe.

The rulebook specifies the diameter from memory - so youre not allowed to use the grey outer edges....there just for you to hold to get your fingers out the way
