Hey Dakka,

Ive been having problems with my Velljo matte varnish lately. I completed several rhinos a while ago and applied decals by first putting down a layer of gloss varnish then the decal then a layer of the matte varnish. I decided to put the same decals on my recently finished vindicator using the exact same method with the exact same products however the matte varnish does not give a matte finish at all but a slightly glossed and shiney finish unlike the finish on my rhinos. Can anyone give advice as to what may have happend to my varnish in the period of not using it?

Probably settled a bit. Matt varnish has a matting agent suspended in varnish which would otherwise be gloss. Shake the crap out of it and it should go matt again.

Upon closer inspection of the bottle I saw that it had a bunch of gloopy stuff stuck to the bottom. I shook it good and now it works again yeeyah!

Rule of thumb, shake all vallejo bottles before use..
