The American version of the British TV comedy Inbetweeners has just released its first trailer and it looks... awful.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6fxnY_98FNo

It's seems like they've just taken some of the funniest moments from the British version and ruined them, all the characters seem worse, I couldn't tell the different between Will and Simon through half of it. Why couldn't they just air the original Inbetweeners on BBC America or something?

Most of the popular UK shows the US try to remake, are rubbish. The Office is one of the few exceptions.
That trailer doesn't really make this seem like a good idea...

It's never going to work! I don't get this obsession that America has with taking, and ruining, some of the best British comedy....

Especially seeing as you Yanks make some pretty funny stuff yourselves! Malcolm In The Middle, Modern Family, and Will and Grace ( I know, but I have a huge crush on Grace ), are all great shows. Not to mention Family Guy and American Dad... Oh and Aqua Teen Hunger Force....Thats a pretty long list, Suits is quality too!

My point is, concentrate on making your own comedy shows and leave ours alone!

Fixed.
The whole point of the inbetweeners' popularity is that they were lovable outcasts. America's too cool for that, whenever they try to make outcasts you end up with kids who look and act popular, but are inexplicably outcasts.
Case in point, the new spiderman film. A good looking kid who's kind, artistic and skateboards. Yeah, chicks hate boys like that.

The high prices also make the game more cinematic, just like going to the cinema!

Yeah, as much as the US can make some great comedy sometimes I don't feel they fully understand some Brit comedy in the way it is fully intended and unfortunately bastardize it in a way that just doesn't have the effect of its UK counterpart. It just has that underlying 'awkwardness' that I think the brit demeanour and attitude helps pull it off so well.

On the otherhand, the US can do other comedy so much better that us Brits!

Not really, the best moment in the entire film is right at the beginning and one tiny bit before the credits that only makes you laugh once. The rest is predictable, cliched and boring.

The Speech bit at the start is laugh-out loud funny for me, anyway. Most of it is just awkward, like Big Bang Theory.

Well...if you like the Inbetweeners series, you'll like the film. They're the same thing.

It just looks like American pie or something.. I like all the fething dripping on the youtube channel though.

The Americans must think this country is full of dickless losers! Why do people take it so offensively when a US company remakes a comedy that happens to have been written by some British blokes?

Maybe they think they get to be cool by proxy if they happen to have been born geographically closer to funny people?

Watch it or dont.. but why get your knickers in a twist eh?

My missus noted that, when we were leaving the cinema she said "30% of high school kids in America are obese, I didn't see a single one in that entire school though!"

We are arming Syrian rebels who support ISIS, who is fighting Iran, who is fighting Iraq who we also support against ISIS, while fighting Kurds who we support while they are fighting Syrian rebels.
