I am starting a Blood Angels army and i want to know whats good to start with. I was thinking Assault Squads but I am just starting Blood Angels so i don't know whats best. My second choice would be to get the Battle-force.

Battle force plus a couple of death company boxes would be a good start

Assault Squads are a great way to start a Blood Angels army. Just make sure you attach sanguinary priests to them for feel no pain and furius charge.

Now that 6th ed is out Death Company are a great way to start Blood Angels as well. Although they can't claim objectives since they are not scoring, they do get a rediculous amount of attacks when charging now.

Agreed on the Assault Squads being very good. They're Troops for the BA and get nice special weapon options. The only thing you need to decide on is whether you want them with jump packs or without in a transport.

Is $100 USD (Im assuming USD from your flag icon) enough to get you a Blood Angels battleforce? Sorry, dunno exchange rates or what the battleforces cost over there, but as others have said, a BA battleforce is a pretty good way to go. There's enough bits from the Death Company sprues to bling up the rest of your regular fellows.

battleforce is $110 but most flgs if he's not buying GW direct will do 10-25% discount. mine does 20% so that'd be 88 before tax

the bettleforce isn't a bad way to go but me i'd probably spend it on

dante = 19.25
sang guard = 33 per box 2 boxes

that is $85.25 before any discounts 20% discount woudl mean 68.25 and thus room to buy a sang priest or box or death company

dante plus sang guard is a hard to kill units as they all have 2+ armor and angelus bolt guns

I would hold off on Dante and the Sanguinary Guard...they are awesome, but the Blood Angel Battleforce is probably the better way to start. I just checked and I saw one on ebay for 89 bucks plus 8.95 shipping, juuuuust under that 100 mark you were looking for.

I would not use drop pods with BA, at least not right away. They have more flexibility in normal transports or Turbochickens(Storm Ravens).

Best buy to start is certainly battleforce. Death company boxes give you a load of blood angel bits to ba your tacticals or assault squads. I bought the battleforce and 2 death co boxes with no intention of actually having death co for now. The pieces they come with mean any normal marines you get can be upgraded to BA

Assault Squads are a great Troop choice for Blood Angels. Also mixing a box of Death Company with Assault Marines gives you a nice squad of 10 Assault Marines.

I think in this instance the Battleforce is a great place to start since you get Death Company and an Assault Squad in it.

For an HQ I would go with either Capt. Tycho or just by the space marine cmdr or even Mephiston and go with that. Dante is nice but 6th ed. nerfed him bad taking his int. 6 to a int. 1 with the power axe.... but there are a lot of great choices for the BA. Get the BF and start with that and then figure out which direction you want your army to go. I personally have almost all assault but I love the fast pace that I play with my angels >!!
