Great to have you!

Is the green stuff for holding in place? It looks a bit thick for gap filling is why I'm asking.

The Imiperial Service is a great way to start.

Good choice of faction.

You might be overusing the greenstuff. It's very thick in places, hiding detail. If you are using it for gapfilling or helping with adhesive you might want to use much less?

Also. Are you watering down your paints?

I know, i cleaned up the GS a bit before painting, i lightly watered down my paints, but not to much.

Update:

Finished most of the basecoats now, i just need to clean up the unpainted parts with small basecoats and other base details before properly colouring them.

I have just gone rummaging down an old paint box and found an old PP Sulphuric Yellow, it's perfect for my models, after a test on the imperial agent i am really happy with the results, i will then highlight with a lighter Yellow

A great technique I've learned recently is to white prime the figure and then do a black wash right away. Get that black into the recess areas. No more bits of white showing where it should be dark.

You should thin your paint down a lot more. Water is good but an acrylic paint thinner is better. If you thin it down and do many coats, with the white primer your highlights are almost done for you.

Here is an example

This is good advice. I do this as well, but I prime with a medium tone grey and it also helps to bring out the detail on the mini.

I've heard of some that will prime grey, do the black wash, then use white primer and spray from one direction above only. This is the "sun" for lighting. This I think works better if using a more translucent paint like oil based paints. It will still work with thinned acrylic based paint as well.
