I have been wanting to redo my Death Guard because they are almost 3 years old now and look like garbage. This is the begining of my new army, a wip kill team I want done by april, and a defiler.

The kill team needs a lot of work still, they need guitar wire for rebreathers (hence the holes in faces and chests) and they all still need the leg ribbing and uper thighs sculpted. As far as the bellies, only the two with the guts hanging out are anywhere near completion. I am trying to go for a look simalr to the old plauge marines, less warped armour, and more boating. Normaly I would wait and get more work on before posting them, but MFV has been bugging me for pics for like 2 months so here goes...

The defiler was made a few months ago to accompany my current army. As such the sculpting is kind of crappy, I spent only an hour on it as I just wanted it to blend in with the old force. But now that MFV and Feyd have created so much badass inspiration on www.deathguard.org, I've decided to redo ALL of the GS work. I am in the proces of removing it as we speak...

As I do more work on these guys I'll update this thread...maybe.

Please tell me what you think so far and give me any critque you think might help.

Thanks!

The sons of Mortarion are looking good but there's still much work to be done before I'll wanna give more constructvie inputs. Migsula did a tutorial I believe on the B&C which might've helped, too bad the site's down at the moment. For cables, I recently found something better, in my opinion, than guitar string, metal wires and the like: Jeff Wilhelm's assortment of 30 sculpted cables. Bend them all you want, they'll always keep a nice curve.

And no matter what you say about that Defiler; I dig it.

Keep it up!

It looks much better than GW's weedy Defiler.

Thanks for the support guys, the defiler will only get better once I get around to sculpting over the gakky GS job...

Here is a small update:

I added 7 new photos of WIP bases I whiped up in five minutes and the gs work i did today, 2 new belies and some leg corruption. The holes in the bellies will get guitar wire inside like the old PM's exposed cables.

Thanks again guys...

Here are 11 new pics of the work I did tonight. Big changes are re-breather cables and gs bulkwork. I did get a bit of detail work done...but mostly I just increased some belly sizes and *ahem* enhanced their groins to better match the legs positionings. I still have a LOT of detail left to do but I need to sculpt the thigh ribbing between the armor sections. I also need to improve the proportions of some bellies...like on the guy with the SM srg helm... So anything I should improve before I start the detail work? I am mainly trying to spot things that don't fit in thier body structure at this point.

Hehe, Nurgle's all about the bloat, baby.

They need to be leaning slightly forwards to balance the weight of the pack. The proportions seem slightly off too ? in particular, the torso on some seems too long and narrow ? but such distortion is only fitting of the Plague Lord's pets.
