So, errr, hi, I'm route66, and I like painting little model soldiers......um....let me start again.

I'm route66, and After years of quietly lurking around looking at all the beautiful miniatures on here, I've finally plucked up the courage to put some of my own work up for your delectation, starting with this kitbashed knight I made as part of a burning desire to be a special snowflake and have an adeptus mechanicum army. Also because y'know sometimes you say "hmmm....the front of that dread looks like it might just be the same size as a defiler.......Igor! Fetch me my Scalpel!"

He's basically a defiler stood upright, with an Ironclad jammed in to make the torso (and the DCCW arm), plus a load of other bits to Imperial him up, so nobody can get all "heresy!" about it and start ringing the Inquisition.

Here he is standing with the rest of my explorator force, so you can get an idea of how big he is (pretty big, he gives Dreadknights an inferiority complex)

If people like him I'll post some more stuff, if people don't like him, well I'll post some more stuff and hope you like those instead!

Thanks for looking - appreciation, criticism, mockery, haranguing and abuse of my painting and modelling skills welcome.

Its not terrible. Just the fact that you've made something like this is pretty cool.

I suppose that it just looks really awkward. The torsos well done, but the legs and the arms are too thin and lanky for how tall it is. I feel like it would look much better if you beefed them up.

^ I agree with Endova, but the rest of your force looks great!
Some pictures of the other stuff would be nice.
Interesting conversions.

Seeing a squad of veterens swoop in in a Vendetta, secure the area, deliver that math assignment, and extract within 2 minutes would be freaking sweet.

Thanks for your comments - I agree that it is quite spindly, especially in the legs, but I kind of like the spidery look, especially compared to the old epic knights with the bastion style legs. Perhaps if I was doing it again (and I might do another one) I'd put some spacers between the leg sections to make them a bit wider (and a bit less obviously defiler claws). Any other suggestions for how to chunk up the limbs? Plasticard?

Some more stuff now:

My Explorator Magos, who definitely isn't part necron....

And with his bodyguard of suspiciously non-GW praetorians...

Some Skitarii (of the classic High Elf Archer style)

And some of a more Roman legion bent....

Lastly for now, a couple of "experimental" tank conversions the Magos is taking for field testing:

"Calliope" Pattern Whirlwind

"Hades" Pattern Vanquisher

Eradicator/Razorback Hybrid

More to come, All criticism welcome, but I might cry if you say they're rubbish.

Loving the Calliope

The walker thingy, while a great idea, really, really needs beefier legs and arms. It looks like if he took a step he'd crumble.
