Basically I had charged a Dreadnaught with DCCW into a unit of 'nid warriors including a prime that was already in combat with a tac squad.
after the other initiative steps had taken place i was left with a warrior with 2 wounds and the prime in base contact with my dreadnaught, plus another warrior alive with full wounds further away
I then inflicted 1 wound with the DCCW, now the dilemma was did i get to do the instant death wound to a model with full wounds as per shooting attacks (5th ed style) which would be the prime or would the wounds be applied to the warrior with 2 wounds.
The problem we had was finding clarification on wound allocation of instant death wounds, old rules used the term "whole models first" but we can find no such mention and are looking for clarification.
The player who owns the models allocates the wounds from closest to farthest. If there are 2 models in
BtB (like you say) then he can allocate it to either model. Chances are he would choose the one with 2 wounds.
