First up, a disclaimer as I'm no expert on the Eldar codex. Eldar detachment is mostly there as I'm sick of SW/GK pscychic nonsense messing with me, and thought a Night Spinner or Fire prism might provide a better anti-infantry capability than a disintegrator Ravager

Farseer goes on quad gun for the BS5 win and shoots down fail-jets. Guardians hunker behind aegis and try to suck and live, which should be aided by Fortune. DE go kill stuff. Except I may drop the quad gun and put in a squad of Incubi for more killy. With the remainder of the pts I could, if I drop Nightshields on the venoms fit in a Talos to lurk about and batter the crap out of anyone that comes near the Farseer, but it would be bare bones with no upgrades. Or if I drop the defence line and a couple of upgrades on the DE vehicles then I can put in a second Razorwing or Voidraven. Or could put in a couple o' haemos for the wyches
Here's a question - do any of you know if the Avatar makes Dark Eldar fearless too?

Well, I'd give the Farseer either doom or guide (for guiding the Guardians or Warwalkers, see below).
Moreover, I'd replace the Spinner by 3 Warwalkers with dual shuricannons (120 pts). This means 18 shots per round, 13 or 14 hits if guided.

If your worried about anti-infantry, why don't you swap the Ravager for a Razorwing with Dissies, Splinter Cannon, Monoscythe Missiles and a Flickerfield?
165 points which is still within your budget but its great against any type of infantry thanks to its mix of good AP, poison and large blasts.
Its also fantastic against FMC and can even function as an interceptor in a pinch (when you come in from ongoing reserves DS behind your opponent if you've not got the angle to fly into their rear arc. All flyers have rear armour 10 which makes 6x S5 AP2 shots do-able, you'll average 0.67 glances and 0.67 pens or 0.5 of each if they jink- either way you should knock off at least 1 hull point)
It synergises well with your Voidravens, too as it covers al the things they are less good at taking out.
I'll second wuestenfux's advice about the Warwalkers, too, although I would outflank them, YMMV

I'll second wuestenfux's advice about the Warwalkers, too, although I would outflank them, YMMV
Outflanking is an option if you must get rid of some nasty shooters in the enemy's backfield. But the downside is that the unit cannot charge upon arrival.

yeah Chimera I often use a razorwing, though I keep the DL's as I find that after I've unleashed the missiles I like having it hit some tanks. The only thing is my ranged anti-tank becomes a bit light if I drop the DL ravager.
@ wusetenfux I'm not really practiced with the ways of the Eldar, but perhaps Doom or Guide would be better. As I need to take an Eldar troops unit do you think the Guardians with Fortune are worth it, behind the Aegis and Gun? I chose them as they could have a ranged heavy weapon and 100 for 10 plus the EML sounded a good deal.
I do want to keep the Eldar contingent quite low points, but also something like a 5 man squad of anything is gonna die pretty quickly if its not mechanised

Well, as a long term Eldar player, fortune is a very precious power. Generally, it should be used to keep a precious unit alive, like a Seer Council or a Beastmaster unit. But its a bit wasted if you take Guardian Defenders as a target. Then better include a Warlock with embolden. Guide will be really useful if you take Guardians with a scatter laser and Warwalkers.

Ok so just realised that I'm going to quite a competitive tournament for the first time in November (not Throne, another one) and think its @ 1850, so in a very brief extension of this current list here's what I'm thinking of taking: Dark Eldar primary HQ - Succubus with venom blade 70 Troops- 5 x KW with blaster, venom with x2 splinter cannon, nightshields 135 5 x KW with blaster, venom with x2 splinter cannon, nightshields 135 5 x KW, venom with x2 splinter cannon, nightshields 120 8 x wych with heka, venom blade. So plan - Craftworld fools hold the back line with quad gun, EML (lol), Night Spinner (ha!) aegis, being fearless due to the boss Avatar who gets fortuned each turn and hides, then bursts out of his hiding place to mess people up that come near my objective. Dark Eldar go for the killing. A bit worried about not having a Haemo in the wyches but I already cut from having Voidravens to Razorwings to save points. And if anyone tells me they are the same points I will hit them with an old Furioso in the chops - Voidravens need loads of expensive upgrades to threaten troops, whilst Razors have a ton of bombs on them already, though they are more vulnerable I'm worried this doens't have anywhere near enough firepower, but its mega cool

Well, now that you have a Warlock with embolden, I'd replace fortune by guide and replace the Nightspinner by 3 Warwalkers with dual shuricannons or 2 Warwalkers with dual scatterlasers. More bang for the bucks!

Ok so i've kinda chucked the 1500 stuff, and this is for the 1850 pts 40k UK GT in November. I see what your saying about the war walkers Wuestenfux, but I dropped the night spinner and put a wraithlord in. All with haywires, raider with nightshields, aethersails 186 Ravager w/DLx3, NS-115 Razorwing, x4 mono, x2 shatterfield, x 2 DL, FF 165 Razorwing, x4 mono, x2 shatterfield, x2 DL, FF 165 Eldar Secondary Farseer, runes of warding, fortune, singing spear 103 10 Guardians, EML, warlock with singing spear, embolden 135 Wraithlord with x2 flamers, EML and wraithsword 125 Aegis with Eldar quad gun 100 I do feel that a Voidraven with the shatterfield missiles is better than a Razorwing, but they are cheaper on Razorwings so i'll stay with them for the time being, though like I said I prefer Voidravens due to void lances (S9 ap2 lance) The Wraithlord may generate some laughs among DE players as we kill them easily 'take splinters in the face, big guy ha!' but if I can get him a cover save and get fortune off on him he is to play the 'goalkeeper' role. I use this a lot, an Ironclad in my Salamanders, a summoned greater daemon in my CSM, basically a MC or walker to protect squishy troops and hopefully make my opponent think twice about getting in my base and killing my dudes. With two flamers and a sword he should be good on the counter attack, and with the EML (i wanted to give him a bright lance but almost had a coronary when I seen how expensive it was!) he can provide ranged fire support. Farseer hopefully shuts down SW/GK psykers, and he goes on the quad gun lol, whilst Fortune-ing the wraithlord. Forgot i could take wracks as troops with a heamo. Succubus steals wracks pain token and joins some wyches. Wracks try and suck and live in a corner somewhere, whilst the empty venom flies behind the wych strike force as an emergency spare transport if they become depleted to 5 or less, and provides some dakka too. Any good, or mega fail?
