Hey everyone,

I recently posted a similar list incorporating an armored spearhead of Black Templar to ally with my Deatwhing army. I have switched around some things and came up with another list I am eager to try out the next time I play. I made the list pure deathwing on the Dark Angels side, as I felt that an extra Land Raider and some plasma templates from my prized Chaplain Dreadnought would help make a very cool themed ground pound army incorporating tons of heavy hitters. AKA lots of power fists, land raiders, and close range brutality units haha.

Anywho, here is the altered Black and White list. My main opponents are Space Wolves (basically all terminators and grey hunters with Logan) Sister of Battle (no problem) and Imperial Guard (gunline, minimal mech). However at the local GW store I have encountered a hefty spattering of all the factions. Eldar (rarely), Orks, Chaos Space Marines, Blood Angels (rarely), Necrons, Dark Eldar and Grey Knights (rarely).

I apologize for the longhand list writing and squad model listing but it helps me to not forget anything and also makes it clearer for my opponents, especially when I am mixing my terminator equipment around. Also, I usually just print up the list before taking it to the GW to make it easy.

Any advice of comments are welcome!

2 land raiders(and dread) against 2000 points will not last long enough.
You will not need more mech to dilute the enemy's fire power.

Then your BT landraider squad is actually a little lack lustre. Rerolling to hit with st4 with no ap, isn't much when they get base 1 attack and this fist only get base 1.

Firstly I sense a new Dark Angel codex on the horizon, so be careful what you buy and indeed what council you take.

Storm bolters are not brilliant, you will find that you aim your CML, then it is luck whether your storm bolters are in range. SS/TH, however, gives you an awesome save. I would still take some lightning claws as they greatly improve your cc prowess.
Also the banner is a good option.

I like the dreadnought, though gets hot may be an issue, and the sanctity is reasonable choice for what you going for.

So I would suggest three options:
1) Solid mech wall. So vindicators and a couple of land raiders, enough heavies will make it to the other side to do the pain.
2)Gunline, fairly usual idea, deathwing and BT are used to it.
ADL+quadgun, hide crusaders with plasma and lascannon behind it. Also try to hide typhoons behind it from either codex.
You have 3 deathwing with CML, BT terminator command squad with 2CML+tankhunter, and BT terminator squad with 2 CML+tankhunter probably with Belial all walking about shooting missiles being cool.
3)This is fun and really makes use of allies. Go for the alpha strike.
Deathwing assault deathwing squads, drop pod a bunch of BT units.
Ravenwing bikers only bring a teleport homer and I would still bring CMLs on the deathwing and ADL with quadgun but I would assault cannons for the BT terminators.

I would like to do more of an Alpha strike army, however with the new rules changes, only 50% can start in reserve. I tried a sort of teleport/deep strike list with BA but I never really could see how it would work.

Also, I would take more SS/TH termies, but I only have those specific layouts of terminators (they are old, from 4th edition) as I played Orks more dominantly in 5th. I will not really indulge in buying new temrinators until the DA codex comes out anyway.

I used a similar list earlier and it did OK, but it had ravenwing bikers, an attack bike, and a melta assault cannon land speeder but no regular land raider in it. For the most part, my Land Raiders survuve pretty reliably until they get assaulted etc. as most of my opponents have str8 weapons (some 9s but it is rare). So gancing two Land Raiders to death in two turns can be a bit of a tall order. And if they don't I use em as rolling cover for my objective holders or as giant tank shock units. Either way, it was fun to play the last two times I used it, but against a more competitive list it will not do too well i imagine. I may tweak here and there. It is basically an outline list for when the new DA codex drops.

The DA codex could be a good long time.
If your enemy can not deal with av14 of course you are likely to win.

Model in drop pods do not count towards reserve tally. So it will only be deathwing and crusaders who are hiding behind the ADL that count. So it is doable.
