The chimera's will give cover to the demolishers and manticore on the first turn or two as they move forward, the infantry platoons' chimera giving cover to the other chimera as they are worth the least amount of points. The manticore will sit at the back of the formation static launching shells and the HQ squad hidding behind it protecting it from assaults and also ordering any veterans to get back in the fight if running away. The two infantry squads will be mounted inside vendettas and ready to snatch objectives at the last turns. I think I have enough AP weapons to take out heavy infantry and enough str 10 and str 9 guns to take out enemy armour. The only thing I may be lacking is troops and counter close combat units but yeah if you could let me know anything I could improve let me know!
Any opinion would be great! Let me know what I can improve as it is still a work in progress!

The one thing I would like to see is some weapons on the CCS. They need something more to offer with 4 vets with BS4. Tough to shave points here so I'm not sure what I would do I just don't see the point of the CCS. It will not protect the manticore at all. It's only 5 guys.

They are merely to stop the enemy from charging the tank in their turn. If they take out my HQ squad in one turn then they'll be open to fire on my next turn. However it is then a Victory point to them... so I could always put the HQ squad in a chimera with some weapons and keep the Platoon command back? However, I do like having lots of scoring units in chimera's that are very mobile....

Drop the platoon, get another vet squad with meltas, and give the CCS an las/auto-cannon or an astropath for your vendettas.

... or drop the PCS' Chimera and buy heavy weapons for the CCS, the PCS, and the 2 PIS. You could give the CCS a lascannon and the rest AC. This leave you 5 points to spare on a special weapon, like another sniper rifle in the PCS or a GL or Flamer somewhere.

This list is ambitious, but at 1500, can't quite pull it off. Too many unused special weapons slots and too many points on things with little bite.
Maybe drop the Inf Platoon, and go with 4 vets, 2 Chi-vets and 2 with meltas and Demolitions for the Vendettas
Add plasmas and an Astropath to the CCS
Or no Demolitions and give the CCS a Chimera

The naked platoon feels like such a waste. I know it's scoring bodies, but they could at least be tossing out autocannon shots every turn, it'd also give something for your CCS to give orders to if your vets get out of range. Giving the PCS a sniper, and not the CCS the weapon makes no sense. Same points, but would hit on a 3+. Same with the chimera, what I like to do with PCS is throw 4 flamers on them, push them in a chimera with a Hflamer and use it as a mobile anti-cover save unit. It's pretty effective. I have to agree with foolishmortal, so many wasted special weapon slots. Guard rely on them. Personal opinion here: ditch at least 1 plasma squad, get some melta. Personally I don't feel safe without melta.

You see my list before this had just 4 squads of vets, 2 with 3 plasma guns and 2 with 3 melta guns, now i tried this down in the store and my melta guns just got destroyed utterly... They get too close and then just end up getting blown up and apparently they work best in pairs, plus I find that I just don't have enough bodies with only 4 squads of vets and guardsmen are so easily killed by bolters... I would love to fill up those last special weapons as I do know how useful they are.. just I don't know where to find the points.. I could lose a vendetta?

I stand by my earlier recommendations. Try it without the Demolitions. You will have 10 BS4 Plasma, all in chimeras. melta-Vets in Vendettas cost more, but can actually do something and are a lot safer in a flyer. If you really want a 5th troops choice, try dropping 1 LRDemo, and adding an outflanking/infiltrating Harker-Vets squad, maybe with Demolitions
The trick with melta-equiped squads is to play them in such a way as to let them have a good chance of getting to shoot first at something worth shooting at.  Chimeras, Vendettas, Infiltrate, Outflank, Deep Strike... these are all just means to an end.

How are your melta vets getting killed by bolters? Are you foot slogging IG forward?
Remember, use cover. Abuse cover. If any of your squads are in the open, they should be about to move into cover, or be prepared to die. Quickly.
They should either be essentially suiciding by leaping out of a flyer directly behind their target, or driving up in a chimera. This will work especially well if you're using a LR Demolisher. Neither of those options are vulnerable to bolter fire.
