The question I have is at which point(s) lvl would an army be at the size for a game of that type?. After adding all of the stuff up I have about 4991 points while staying within the FoC for the main and Allied army (which doesn't include any super-heavies or bigger).
Now, I know that the above amoiunt of points could be used in a regular game as well, but if I used it for an apocalypse game, can more then two HQ per army be taken?
and am sorry if this question seems confusing

In An Apoc game you do not use a force org chart. If you wanted to have 20 Land Raiders as an army in a 5000 point game, you can. You would not have anything else on the table, but whatever it is apoc. Or if you wanted to field Space Marines, Eldar, Tyranids, and Orks in the same army, go for it. Apoc does not really have a points limit (Apocalypticon just had a 500,000 point game) and there really is no minimum, so if you wanted to bring 5 grey Knight Librarians against 750 points of something else, go for it.

In Apoc, there is no FoC, its take what you want afaik (might be wrong under 6th rules).
5k is a good old size, go for it!
What armies you going for?

A pickup game of Apocalypse? A word of warning: Apocalypse is more fun with friends, and I don't think I'd ever dare playing with someone I didn't know pretty well at that scale. If the player just doesn't gel with you, prepare to spend all day playing a game that you don't enjoy as much as you'd like. I also probably wouldn't go for a 1v1 Apocalypse game, but it's definitely still doable.
Regardless, as has been stated there is no FOC in Apocalypse. If you want to take 50 Space Marine captains as your whole army, you can.
