Ive posted my army lists several times and each time people rip it to shreds. I am new to the game and looking for constructive advice on how to rearrange my list. I dont want to purchase any more models ideally though if need be i can.

I want to have a imperial fist army approx 1550 and roughly 450 points imperial guard units.

Ive posted my list several times but am at my wits end and dont know how to finalise it. I have the option of changing the loadout on any squad and as an alternative have enough for a platoon of guardsmen. Thanks

With regard to marines currently i have

HQ
Captain Lysander -
Command squad four plasma-
Razorback

Elite

Terminator squad 6 marines chain fist cyclone missile launcher

Troops

Tactical Squad 10 marines with Plasma Cannon and Plasma Gun-
Rhino -

Tactical Squad 10 marines with Multi Melta Flamer-
Drop pod

Scout Squad 5 snipers , 1 heavy bolter Camo cloaks-

Fast Attack

Space marine attack bike with multi melta -

Heavy

Devastator Squad 5 marines, 3 missile launchers ,1 plasma cannon
Predator with autocannon and heavy bolters

Imperial Guard[u]

Lord Commissar

Veteran squad,3 meltaguns and shotguns
Chimera with heavy Flamer

Veteran squad,3 grenade launchers
Vendetta

I don't think lysander can go in a razorback.

if you are drop podding a squad take a melta gun instead of flamer and maybe even a combi melta on sgt

termie squad does not really need the chain fist

you may do better with a normal captain with command squad in a razorback as well Lysander adds very little to the unit and the army

try and make the pred a lazcannon sponson autocannon turret

The rest seems OK but I think the rhino may be a little lonely by itself and will die first turn.

I can offer advice on the marine half.

Lysander in a unit of shooty terminators makes a nice, solid center of your army. I like having a chainfist, I'd keep it. I prefer assault cannons over CMLs, but YMMV.

I don't know if it's worth fielding a command squad without the captain leading it. I think you may be better served with sternguard. I want to like command squads, but I think they are a little overpriced for what you get.

When I field PC/P tac squads, I don't give them a transport. The PC can't fire on the move. I'd trade a ML from the devs.

I would not drop a single tac squad. It's not going to make a big impact the turn it lands, and then be destroyed. I prefer to pair a HB or ML with flamers. Or go MM/M if you want to keep the multimelta. I'd get these guys a rhino, so both your tac squads are mobile.

Scouts are solid. I field that unit frequently myself.

I like land speeders for fast melta delivery, but bikes are a solid choice.

For Dev squads, I like 10 man units. 5 guys with a 3+ save just die too fast IMHO. I'd suggest you go with a LC rather then a PC. You don't have a huge amount of anti-armor firepower in your list, so I suspect these guys are going to be spending games tank hunting. Alternatively, go 4xML to keep the points down.

I think an auto/las pred would suit your list better. While the Dakka pred does a very nice job blowing hordes apart at a reasonable cost, you have a lot of stuff in your list that can do that job as well.

Ok, on the marine stuff:

The Command Squad is pretty expensive just for four plasma guns. I could consider them.

The Terminators are ok, but die to plasma etc. I would consider Assault Terminators.

You only have a single Drop Pod, which means that unit is going to arrive first and be in the opponent's face; this unit will have no support. If you switch the Pod to a vehicle, then you will be fine.

The single Attack Bike is asking for trouble. Take them in pairs or switch for Land Speeders with dual melta. Always take units in pairs btw.

The Devs are fine, but really should all have missile launchers.

The Predator is a bit meh really. You will find it won't kill a fat lot, I think it will kill like a two Orks or something. I would take move Devs and pay that extra point cost, remember, units come in pairs.

The Lord Commissar doesn't serve much purpose in this list. You can get a bare bones CCS for cheaper.

Also, I presume you will be putting the Veterans in the Vendetta? If so do not do this. Reason is the Vendetta is a gunship and should be flying about and the opponent needs 6+ to hit it. If you use it as a skimmer, it will be easier to hit and the Veterans have to get close to the enemy units, which means your Vendetta will too.

Your list isn't bad by any means. I am not sure why people would rip it to pieces. It just needs some tweaking and it is spot on.

Hi one last question for you all, I think im going with a CCSas my hq choice. im going to put the vets with meltas in the vendetta and the other squad with grenade launchers on foot.
Im thinking of putting the command squad in a chimera but am not sure which weapon setup to take, flamer, melta, plasma or grenade launcher.
Im open to suggestions about altering the weapon loadout of the other two squads.

Thanks

Don't worry about the lists being torn apart. Everyone will have differing opinions. Don't be discouraged, because as you can see in many list threads everyone thinks they have found the magic combination to victory. Look at the various ideas that are given and make your lists and play, play, play. Then make adjustments. Some things may surprise you in the end that other swore would never work.

The grenade launchers are worthless. Reconsider them. Jack of all trades master of none.

What would be the best to change them too if there on foot?

Considering they're in the vendetta, meltas or plasmas would be nice. You can deep strike them behind a unit in cover and rapid fire plasma to rout them. Or you can do a similar thing to rear tank armor.
