hey guys long time lurker, first time poster. Bought the Cadian IG Battleforce box and trying to find out what to buy to take it up to an effective...idk...750 points.

what would you suggest? Im very partial to a footslogger army, but strangely enough I have been having a terrible time finding lists. Any help is appreciated.

On Nimbosa, cramming as many guardsmen into troop carriers as possible.

Add an infantry platoon with heavy weapons and maybe a basilik.

If you want all infantry, try a MoO in your CCS instead of a Basilisk. It isn't quite as good but fits the footslogger motif nicely.

infantry platoon meaning one boxed set of 20, and then 3 heavy weapons teams? that would give me 40 guardsmen. I thought I needed more than that? Or is that fine considering ill make them veterans with...idk...x3 meltas per squad?

I suggest you buy another battleforce, a master of ordnance, and a box of ratlings. With these you can make the following:

CCS
Vox
MoO
Carapace armor 105

Infantry Platooon
ICS
Vox 35

Infantry Squad
Missile team
Vox 195

HWS
3 missiles 90

Veteran Squad
Plasma guns x3
Grenadiers 145

Armored Sentinels
2 sentinels
2 missiles 130

Ratlings x5 50

750 points

Just remember- Even footsloggers in real life have air support! A single flier would serve well.

This post is great for special weapons not included. The plasma gun is a bit iffy, but I use about 4 of those melta conversions in my army.

Star Trek taught me so much. Like, how you should accept people, whether they be black, white, Klingon or even female...

A second Battleforce is very handy, but you probably want some diversity right now. Chimeras are a great investment - you'll use them a lot, and you can always proxy/mod them into almost anything. Special weapons - the melta/plasma pairs - are great to turn your infantry into useful veterans. A Russ kit or Valkyrie/Vendetta goes a long way, too.

That's where I'd start with Guard. You want a solid foundation at first, units with lots of diversity. Add specialized units later once you have a feel for your preferences. Proxying is your friend to test out units before buying, if you have opponents willing to help you out.
