Hi good people of dakka
I was planning on buying a battlefoam case for my doublewing army, and as we all know, the ravenwing bikers have those super cool, but tall back banners. So, instead of being able to fit them in a 2 inch tray, I need to use the 3 inch tray, which takes up more space then it should in the case, and wastes space. Is there any way that I can get around this or am I just going to have to buy something bigger then the pack 420?

Rest them on their side instead of upright, and then nestle them like rotated L's. This would work with a pick-n-pluck style foam tray. Sabol makes them, so does KR I believe. No clue about battlefoam, never really looked into their offerings, so if you're set on getting one of their cases this may not do you any good.

Battlefoams pluck foam would work fine for the method above.

There's also this, which holds 24 bikes, though at 2" deep I don't know if it'll be deep enough for the banners.

Another option is their custom tray creator. Make it however deep you need and use the boke shape to put as many bikes as you can fit on the tray.

Loki, thanks for the help, but I was just trying to get help on minimizing the size of my bikes, as I think 3 inches of foam is a little outrageous for bikes :(

Just thought I would bump this and find out if anyone out there has bought some battlefoam and were able to fit the new Ravenwing bikes in there? Did you use the custom tray editor and make a custom shape or has anyone tried the "trike" triangle shape and lay them sideways so that the wings fit in ok? Also, has anyone had any luck with getting Samual on his hover bike in the battlefoam and what shape did you use?

I went for the custom tray at a deeper depth. I have my bikes and speeders in the same tray. With the custom trays you can really maximize the storage so I would recommended them. The DV bikes do fit in the standard bike slot btw.

So did you go with the 3 inch one and just put the bikes straight in instead of on their sides?
