Alright guys, I have begun the long slog of putting together state troops so this is what I am heading towards. Any help and criticism would be awesome!

So, there it is. It is a great themed list with characters leading every unit and adding an amazing synergy to every unit.

The plan is to put the combat wizard L4 (yeah I just said that! How many other people run a L4 wizard designed to kill Chaos Lords lol!), the Arch Lector, and the BSB into the Great swords to provide a 12" LD10, stubborn, re-rollable bubble. The arch lector gives everyone around him in BTB -1 to hit so obviously the BSB and the L4 will stand next to him. People will need 6s to hit the AL and the L4 and 5s to hit the BSB. The L4 will take life and give the great swords regen and buff the Halberdiers to T5 or whoever needs it.

The mounted captain and WP go into the knights of the white wolf and act as a either an anvil or hammer. They have MR3 and are stubborn LD8 with hold the line.

The last WP goes into the halberdier horde backed up by the Hurricanim which will sit behind the halberdiers and Teutogen Gaurd.

Pistoler units are there for drops, clearing chaff, and warmachine hunting.

And how can I not run the Wolf Rider conversions I did? You have to keep them in the list because they are great at cleaning up flanks and hitting really hard.

The complaints I have are:
Too many points spent on characters.
BSB cannot be armed with a GW just fyi
This list really is focused on the Teutogen Deathstar which despite your magic defense is going to get hit with all of the spells.

With the VHS and Fencers blades you are giving your WS 10 to your opponent. Fencers blades makes your WS 10. VHS then switches that with your opponent's WS. Oh, and take lore of light. It synergises with the knights and hurricanum better. Your knights will be hitting on 4s mostly, with Light you make that 3s and the hurricanum makes that 2s.

Drop the crown captain. He adds stubborn, but he is too expensive for it. I personally would use reiksguard as Knights of the White Wolf as they are s4 on the charge and stubborn. Not completely fluffy, but more competitive. The Greatswords should drop the magic banner. Chances are, your knights are going to be running up faster than they can keep up.

Take the strider standard on your demigryphs. Savour the look on your opponents face as you charge them through dangerous terrain and ignore the effects.

Pistoliers . My favourite unit in the book. These guys are perfect.

You do not swap WS with your opponent. Only S,T, A, and I now as far as I understand it.

I am not dropping the knights of the white wolf since they are kind of the heart of this themed list.

I agree that I have a lot of characters, but I think all the synergy that they bring really makes them important.

I like the idea of changing up the the magical standard on the demigryphs, but I definitely want that LD10 re-roll the standard of discipline gives me and its only 15 pts.

If I do drop one of the captains then what do I replace him with?

Bsb can take a GW, the old restriction is gone. You are right about the Van Horsey, though personally id take a witch hunter with the speculum...Also, if you take Light as suggested (I personally LOVE light with empire, you might want to give someone the Mace of Hellstrom, especially on your combat wizard (that just sounds so wrong)

I wanted to run a witch hunter but that would be dropping a priest or a demigryph and neither of those options seemed worth it. Thanks for clarifying the BSB GW thing and speculum.
