What cover save does a model out of Line of Sight have? Say you use LoS! to put a wound on the closest model, but that model is behind a tank and totally out of LoS of all models in the firing unit. Would you give them a 4+ (or 3+ or 5+ etc)? Would you give them cover equal to whatever is hiding them? The rules do not seem to cover it, so I would like your thoughts.

In this situation (as you cannot normally allocate wounds to models completely out of sight), I would say whatever is supplying the cover.

Greebo had spent an irritating two minutes in that box. Technically, a cat locked in a box may be alive or it may be dead. You never know until you look. In fact, the mere act of opening the box will determine the state of the cat, although in this case there were three determinate states the cat could be in: these being Alive, Dead, and Bloody Furious.

I'd go with whatever is hiding them, as it seems the closest thing to consistent w/ the rules.

How are wounds getting allocated to models out of LoS?
If it can happen somehow, I would go with the cover save provided by whats blocking them.

They would only be entitled to a cover save if the character that they were LOS'ing for was entitled to one.

Through the Look Out Sir rule. Or a Scattering (non barrage) blast marker.

Huh? Cover is model by model...the save of the Character is not relevant to the save of the model LOSed to.

If the rules truly don't have anything to cover it, my thoughts would be to use the characters cover. This has no basis on rules since I'm going on the assumption that OP is right and there isn't any rules for it. I'd play this because if the model is out of line of sight he can't be hit by the bullet. To be able to be hit by it he would have to dive OUT of LOS blocking cover and in front of his commander putting him in the same cover situation as his commander.
I also usually just roll on my saves on my character anyway and then try to LOS any failed saves since my character has always had an equal or higher save than his squad. I'm not sure if this is the right way to do it, but it's the easiest. Feel free to correct me on that one if I am wrong.
Once again this is my thoughts as the OP asked for and has no basis on any rules. It's merely how I would play it in the absence of relevant rules.

I'd say whatever cover value would normally apply from whatever was hiding the model. So if a ruin, 4+; if a particularly thick tree in a wood, 5+, etc.
