I wanted to make a couple threads about hardware and peripherals and all that, but I thought this would be a nice way to condense those ideas into a single thread.
Having your own space is important, and I think everyone wants to feel comfortable and relaxed when they're using the computer, especially if you're a gamer. Everything, from the chair you sit on to the monitors, right down to the mousepad, is important. A good rig is a source of pride, and hopefully the envy of your contemporaries. I know that I'm on the computer for about 8 hours a day, which is about the same amount of time I spend sleeping, so I like to constantly think about what I can do to make it better, or how to make it more classy and attractive.
If you're up to it, post a picture of your rig, or just discuss it.
This is the same card table I was using for painting, but it's been converted for computering, after I inherited a monitor from the neighbors. I plan to scrap the table entirely, and get some nice dark cherry sort of desk of the same general size and shape. I want something that doesn't totally waste the space in the back, so I might get some shelving for figures and other junk. Ideally, I'd also want to fit another monitor on the table, and a nice keyboard (thinking off a steelseries 7G). My netbook is a total piece of garbage, but I'm going to keep it, and just use a tower for the majority of computations. I have a Steelseries Sensei mouse coming in the mail, which is a little over the top, since I'm not a gamer, but it should be nice.
Not too fussy with the computer itself, but I'll probably build it from scratch.
