Well where to start,

I am a long time fan of 40k my main army being about 10,000 points of Tyranids, I also have about 3k of Tau (only undercoated), and have just bought some Chaos totalling about 2k (25% through assembly).

I am mainly here to discuss 40k and for the painting and modelling tips, I consider my painting ability as basic (photo attached) but neat, I really want to sculpt my own models but I'm just a beginner - hair, fur and gaps is my limit just now.

Thanks so much for the warm welcome, I have been looking at the Painting & Modeling forum especially the big conversions thread, so many good ideas in there.

What I want to do:

Chaos - Scions Of The Abyss (undecided on colours) - The idea is to replace all the HQ choices in the new 6th edition codex with my own custom models as follows:

Abaddon > Njierdou Kujurion - Lord of the Abyss - just don't like Abaddon

Lucius > Venaza Zaxos - The Temptress based on Medusa perhaps

Ahriman> Ak-Muthius - The Abyssal Shadow - thinking sleek statuesque warlock

Kharn >Azmavar - perhaps based on the Minotaur

Typhus> Arius Kujurion - 1st son of the abyss - Grim reaper


@Goerdie - Unfortunately I rarely travel, find it hard to even get to my local GW - once a month at best. We had a shop in our town back in the nineties but since that shut I have to travel 20 miles to get to Glasgow. This is the reason why I keep leaving the hobby.
