Looks pretty good so far! I use a lot of ink washes in my stuff, but also washes from just watered down paint... Like, a dab of paint and some splashes of clean water on a painting palette/tile (or, as I've started to use, an upturned useless CD, like the ones you get for internet in junkmail? Makes a good painting palette!) and use it to shade your preferred areas. Chris

Yeah - not to be a prick but I think you'd really benefit from dipping. (see a gajillion other threads) The only other thing I'd mention is that after you ink/dip your dudes, I'd reccomend possibly adding yellow irises to their eyes, because it's not nearly as hard as doing human eyes and really brings them to life.

The iris is part of the eye. You have the white part, then you have the colorful part (the iris), then you have the black dot (the pupil) The yellow iris

I wouln't put an iris into in Ork eye. just paint it white and then red, so you get a nice glowing effect, (besides, it kinda makes them look like Admiral Thrawn)(a bit)

The USS Orinoco was a Federation Danube-class runabout that was in service with Starfleet in the late 24th century, attached to Deep Space 9. It was outfitted with a sensor pod.

I don't bother with irises a lot of the time. Soldiers with a deep wash in the recesses and some kind of highlight will look like they have eyes.

Irises really add a lot to a model IMO. If you use a dark color, you need not even bother with the pupil. Flesh wash the recesses, paint white, and carefully place a small spot for the iris. For shielded helmet eyes, I use Blood Red fading into Blazing Orange with a small slash of Skull White, all covered in a lite Red Ink wash. Here are some of mine, along with an example of "Helmet Eyes".

Yea, he turned out not quite how I expected. "Uh, guys? Don't panic, but I think we just infiltrated next to a Lictor."
